Hi Everyone!

I am enjoying beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park.  While I have no cards to share today, I thought I would share a couple of amazing pictures in the mountains.

Inspired Thanks

Hi Everyone!

I am doing the happy dance over here as we are done with school and enjoying summer break!  I am already headed to one of my most favorite places, Rocky Mountain National Park.  Hope to share some photos later.
Anywho, there is a brand new challenge up at The Challenge, and this week we have a theme for you~

Well, I have to admit, this one had me stumped- it did not help that I was completely without any mojo.  Maybe I just didn't want to think about school anymore!  :)  I guess we all have card(s) that we are not happy with.

So, I went with the classic teacher gift, an apple (which is from Gina K).  Fussy cut the apple, added die cut leaves and a Stamplorations sentiment.
I used the sketch from Viva la Verve-

And am linking up to Stamplorations May Challenge, Stamps and Leaves.

Check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the team!

Once you are inspired, I hope you link up your interpretation of this challenge!

Have a wonderful, blessed week!

Inspired Daisies with The Challenge

Happy Monday All!

The excitement is building around here as we have only one more Monday of school!  Bring on the summer!  But, I am getting ahead of myself. This Monday, we have an Inspiration Challenge at The Challenge.  Daisies anyone?

I love the fresh, soft feel of this photo~

This left me stumped for a bit, but as I started to play with different elements, the end result is a card I love.  I wanted to incorporate watercoloring, but wanted to leave the card fairly simple and fairly white.  I ended up just watercoloring the flower centers~

LOVE how these flowers turned out!
I used the sketch at Fusion~

The background was stamped with ODBD's Gingham Background Stamp and embossed with the SU Honeycomb embossing folder.  Daisies are Heartfelt Creations and are colored with Peerless Watercolors.  Sentiment/die is from Hero Arts.  I added a SU paper doily, and, I know you are tired of hearing about my favorite twine, but I added my FAV-orite twine, Hemptique.
I have been going a little overboard with sequins lately, too, so this time I changed it up and added seed beads instead.
I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge- 'XYZ', y being for yellow.  In addition I really like the suggestion of being inspired by 'the end' ( as in the end of the alphabet); this is a card for a friend's daughter as she has just come to the end of her school career as she graduated Saturday.  And, as this is a graduation card, I am linking up to The Pink Elephant.

Check out the rest of the talented Design Team's inspiration!
Can't wait to see what you link up to The Challenge!

Blessings!

New HB2U!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a blessed Sunday.  I did lots of chores yesterday, so today I an relaxing.  I really wanted to try a sketch at Retrosketches and also wanted to try out my brand new Cas-ual Fridays set, The Whole Shebang .  And, have you heard about the Linky Party going on  on Kylie's blog, Kylie is Addicted to Stamps?  She is throwing a party for her friend , Sandie of London Days.

I love this set!  I knew the first thing I wanted to try with this set was Resist Watercoloring.  Still working on that watercoloring part, but I still like how this turned out.
I turned the sketch to accomodate the sentiment~

I used the colors at Color Throwdown~

I am also linking up to Seize the Birthday, Anything Goes~

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week!

Magnolias for Mom

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick post this evening, to share another card I made to encourage my mom, who finally came home from the hospital this week.

I have had this Flourishes stamp set for at least two years, and for those of you entrenched in this stampy world, you know they have been out of business for nearly a year.  This is the first time I inked up this gorgeous image.  I think it intimidated me in the past, but I finally decided now was as good a time as any!  It was the perfect image for my mom as she definitely likes more traditional images.
I used the a sketch at Deconstructed Sketch; congrats to Jen on her 200th sketch challenge!  I chose this sketch to use this week~

I am also playing along in Power Poppy's challenge this month, 'Cut it Out'; in other words, fussy cut that main image!  I just ordered my first Power Poppy stamp, but as luck would have it, it is very detailed and not meant for fussy cutting- even for this girl who loves to fussy cut!
I am also entering this into Stamplorations' May Challenge, 'Stamps and Leaves'.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed weekend!

Masculine Challenged!

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

There is a new challenge up today at The Challenge, and this week it is all about color!  The colors tend to lend themselves to masculine cards, imo, and since I am masculine card challenged, I decided to add another guy card to my stash with these colors~

I used a simple banner image to create my pattern.  I started out with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of cardstock and my Misti.  While the Misti does wonders in getting the image straight and where it needs to be, I still have trouble with thinking through stamping complicated designs- such as this one.
Thanks to a couple of mistakes, I ended up cutting my background out as two separate pieces.  I did not like the way they looked on a white background (not masculine enough for me) so found this wonderful dp that worked perfectly.  As the card morphed from one design to another, I lost sight of the end product and needed a sketch.  The new sketch at (CAS)E This Sketch was perfect, when flipped~

As the card came together, I made more changes, including taking some liberties with the sketch.  Not even sure it is CAS at this point!  Anywho, I finished it off with a sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and my fave twine, Hemptique.
Check out the rest of the amazing inspiration from the rest of the talented team!
Can't wait to see what you link up at The Challenge!

Happy Crafting and have a Blessed week!

A Smile For Mom

Happy Mother's Day to All the Moms out there!

I have a quick post today, sharing a card I made with my mom in mind.  She taught me to love traveling and she still loves to travel and see new places.  She will be getting out of the hospital tomoorrow (after a stay of over a month) and I want to have some cards to cheer her up.

I used some map themed dsp from SU as will as the On Film Framelits from SU.  The stamps are Sugar Pea Designs.  I added a bit of Crystal Effects to the heart/camera, though it is hard to see here.  I got my inspiration from
Sugar Pea Designs sketch~

Colour Q colors~

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, "Don't Abandon the Coral".
I also used the inspiration at The Curtain Call, but was a few hours late to upload my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

The Challenge- A Sketch

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone!

It's May, it's May!  Hard to believe, isn't it?  I love May with the spring green foliage all around, warmer temps and and thoughts of summer.  But it also brings the stress of trying to get everything done by the end of the school year.  However, there is ALWAYS time for stamping!
This week we have a sketch for you at The Challenge~

I took some liberties with this sketch, as you can see~

I rotated the sketch, moved my panels around a bit, and left the banners off.  I really love how this turned out.  I made this specifically for my mom, who has been in the hospital for 3 weeks.
To start, a border was stamped with the hexagon background stamp from PTI's Rosie Posie.  Then I dry embossed a piece of white cardstock and  diecut it with the polaroid die from SU's On Film Die set.  I took the center die cut piece out and just angled it over the polaroid frame.
I added a bit of cheese cloth for interest under the rose and white twine around the sentiment panel; I have been trying to make cards more mailable these days, so I am limiting the bows and bling!
I am linking up to:
Colour Me... So Saffron, Hello Honey and Cajun Craze
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge,'Anything Goes'
And Just Us Girls- 'twine'

Check out the rest of the amazing inspiration from the rest of the team!~

Then hop over to The Challenge and play along!  Hope to see you in the gallery!
