Throwing a Little Color on My Comfort Zone

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Today's card was an experiment to break out of a crafting rut. It is also for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog.  It was time to get out of my comfort zone.

Some days I seem to be able to use water color mediums, and other days I do not.  I was determined to used the powdered water colors- Colorburst and Brushos- with a stencil.  The stenciled background was done on mixed media paper.  I love how this turned out.  I finally got the right mix of powder and water.
It was a perfect background for this awesome sentiment from the new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Inspirational Word Art 2 Stamp Set.  The bird silhouette from the His Wings Stamp Set was the perfect finishing touch for this card.  I added strips of paper for the banner portion of the Retrosketch, below, that I used.

I am also linking up to~
Fusion- When I saw the inspiration photo, the chair backs immediately reminded me of stencils!  I loved the colors too!
