Oopsy Daisy!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Wednesday!

I have a fun card to share with you today!  It stems from my lack of a green thumb!   I have always admired landscaped areas where flowers are happily blooming from what appears to be a "spilled" pot or basket.

But because of my lack of ability to grow anything green, I have not been able to create one of these lovely garden features-
Until now!  When I first saw the flower pot from the Decorative Flower Pot die, I new exactly what I wanted to do! Here is the inside of the card~

For detailed instructions on how to make this card and for inspiration from all of the Design Team members, head over to the Heartfelt Creations blog

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Criss Crossing the Miles

Hello Again!

Today is my final day as Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Guest Designer.  May just flew right by!

This card features the Across the Miles set.  I stamped the arrows in a pattern and added the plane.  The color scheme comes from the Design Seeds website.  It is a great place to get color inspiration if you are stuck in a rut!  The sentiment is stamped in black and then again in Blushing Bride, just slightly offsetting it to give it a shadow effect.

This card uses the Head in the Clouds set and the matching dies-
I stamped the cloud images in craft white ink, heat embossed with white ep and then die cut them out.  This sketch is from Retrosketches-another great place to get inspired if you are stuck in a rut! I haven't participated in a challenge in a while, so it was fun to play along!

I do not have a sun die, so I diecut two stars and layered them to create the sun rays.  The sun itself is made with a circle punch.   I added a yellow felt bow, sponging it with ink to brighten it up a bit to match the cs.  The bow and the stitching mimic the kite tails in the dp.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Gesso Resists!

Good Morning!

Wow!  I cannot believe that the unofficial official start to summer is here!  School is out for us and that means time to get things done around the house and more craft time.  And don't you find you stay up later during the summer hours?  I know I do and I was up late last night making a mixed media card for SCS's Mix challenge, to use both rough and smooth elements on our cards.

I started by following a tutorial on Gesso Resist technique by Kim at Eclectic Paperie, found here.  I applied the gesso to my cs base and once dry, splotched on diluted More Mustard and Calypso Coral reinker, spritzed with water and dried to desired effect. And the gesso really does resist beautifully.
Next I stamped a bit of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Music Background image in black on portions of the background.  Then I stamped the flourish from SU's Everything Eleanor on Craft White and embossed with white ep.
The stars are made with SU's Glimmer Paper, diecut with Sizzix star dies and then the two larger stars are coated with Crystal Effects.
The top 'awning' or layer is made with So Saffron and stamped in Craft White with MFT's Darling Dots stamp.  Wish Big is stamped with Archival Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed weekend!

Heartfelt Greenery

Hello!
First and foremost, let me just say that I am heartbroken over the devastation in Oklahoma.  It is hard to comprehend that much destruction, but I am grateful for a God who knows all and cares about each and every person effected by the storm.  I am also grateful for the stories of hope and miracles that are already being told.  Praying that God would heal, comfort, and give peace that passes all understanding at this time.

Today I am sharing a card with you using flowers from Heartfelt Creations' newest floral images with matching dies-the Sun Kissed fleur collection.

I really like making window cards by using die cuts and popping them up on dimensionals, as I have done here with the ovals. You can get complete details on how to make this card by visiting the Heartfelt Creations blog.
I hope I have inspired you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spotlight on Sweet Stamp Shop

Hello Everyone!
Today I have the honor of being featured on the Sweet Stamp Blog and the pleasure of sharing with you some of the cards I have made with one of their newest releases, Eye Love.  You can see my card for the Release Day of this set here.
I really enjoyed playing with patterns using the set, with its cute little circles and oval.

I really love the trendy ombre color effect as well as the rainbow color spectrum trend, so I did that here, coloring with my Prismacolor pencils.

Here I stamped a row of circles on gingham dp and fussy cut it out into a scalloped border.  I used my Simply Scored to add scoring beneath the fabulous sentiment, for a sweet, vintage-looking, romantic card.

Lastly, I used my favorite stamp, this fabulous "always" sentiment, and added beautiful Authentique dp for a shabby chic, romantic card.  I think the stitching really adds some great detail, along with the lace and the bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog; you are so appreciated!

Have a blessed day!

Sweet School Year Endings

Hello, Everyone and Happy Tuesday to you!
I am sharing cards with you using 3 of the newest releases from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The first design is perfect for those end of the year Thank Yous for your child's teacher(s), and uses the Buggin' Ya set.  The sentiment is from Precious Poppies.

And here is the same design, using a sentiment from the Buggin' Ya set.

These cards are sooo quick and easy to make.  I die cut a Very Vanilla circle using my MFT Circle Stax dies and folded the circle in half.  Then cut a circle one size larger from red cs and cut it in half. Adhere the red half to the inside front of the card.  Add your appleseeds, which have been die cut using the cloud and rain drop dies, sentiment, and paper pieced worm!  Done!  I also added a little colored pencil to indicate where the worm hole is.  :)

This card uses the Landscape Silhouettes set.

So, as summer break is upon us, the travel bug is biting hard!  I am ready to get in the car and take a road trip!  Of course, being from the midwest, anywhere I go means driving past farms, such as the one on this card.  I stamped the image on a round, yellow piece of cs and then using yellow and orange inks, sponged the sunset.  I embossed the white background panel, added a sentiment from the Across the Miles set and finished it off with what else, but a gingham bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a blessed week!

Another Year Older?

Hello!

Continuing with the Celebrations theme at Ribbon Carousel this month, I have a birthday card to share with you.

The white flower behind the pink flower is made using one of the Ornament framelits as flower petals.  The large leaf is made using one of the Apothecary Framelits.  The tropical drink is stamped in Tempting Turquoise and clear embossed; the umbrella and straw are then stamped.  The beverage is fussy cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

Clematis Box for Spring

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by!
Today I have a really fun project to share with you. I have used the latest die from Heartfelt Creations to make this box.

Die cut 3 box panels from Paper Temptress Laser Silver Luster Paper using the Gift Ensemble die. Die cut 2 more from SU Concord Grape cs. Cut the long lace edges off of one of the grape die cuts. Cut the extra lace pieces in half-these will be used as hinges in the corners of the purple lid. Match up a lace piece with the lace edge of the box in the very corner, score the piece and fold and then adhere to the inside corner of the box. Repeat on the remaining 3 corners of the lid.
Adhere the sides of the box together. Fold and adhere the lace edge to the sides of the box at the bottom. Adhere the bottom end flaps to the 2 side end flaps. Your box is now assembled.
Stamp the Striped Sun Kissed flowers in Concord Grape on white cs, and die cut. Sponge with Wisteria Wonder for some color and sponge Concord Grape around the edges. Mold your flowers and adhere layers of petals with dimensionals. Add pearls for centers. Stamp leaves in Lucky Limeade on white cs. Sponge on some Lucky Limeade ink. Paint on Moss Green 3D Stamp Paint. Once dry, Sponge on more Lucky Limeade ink from the paint out toward the end of the leaf.

Cut 2 1½ inch strips of dp from the Delicate Aster dp. Lightly score, or gently fold 1 strip to fit around the box, lengthwise. The strip won't be quite long enough, which is why you have the second strip. Cut a second piece about 2 inches long and adhere to the ends of the first strip, so that you have a band of paper; slip band over box. Adhere flowers and leaves to band.

And another project this week:

This was a mixed media project for me, but unfortunately, hardly any of it can be seen because of the layout I chose to use it with!  For details on how to make this card and to see all of the other beautiful creations by the Design Team, why not pop over to the HC blog?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week,

Lee Ann  :)

Guest Designing with the Sweet Stamp Shop!

Hello All!
I am thrilled to say that I have the pleasure of designing for Nicole Rixon and The Sweet Stamp Shop this month!  Today is New Release Day and Nicole has 2 fun sets for us!  I am sharing my card, using the quirky, fun set, Eye Love-

My main image is embossed in silver ep and cut out with a Spellbinder die.  It is matted on Echo Park dp which has been cut out with an Apothecary Framelit from SU.  The 20/20 image is stamped repeatedly on white cs and cut out with an Apothecary Framelit; it is layered on a mat of Very Vanilla cs.  I have popped up the main image as well as the main panel on dimensionals.   Fabulous pearls finish off the card!  It's a perfect set!

And my favorite stamp in the set?  This gorgeous word stamp!  I just love the script, don't you?

For this card I started by die cutting out a heart and then coloring it in with Copics; I then stamped the sentiment.   It is matted on a piece of cs with 4 squares of Authentique dp.   The heart is popped up on dimensionals as is the entire panel.  A flourish of pearls is added along with a row of roses.  Took very little time, but results in lots of romance!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed day,
Lee Ann  :)

Gotta Map??

Hi All!!
If you are looking for the Sweet Stamp Shop new release post, please go here
Today is the last day of the Sweet n Sassy New Release Blog Hops.  Today's set is one of my favorites- Across the Miles.

This wonderful set designed by Dina Kowal is perfect for those who love to travel, but also for encouraging distant loved ones and missionaries.  The different elements work nicely with the main image to create a variety of styles and the sentiments are beautiful and inspiring.  It also coordinates very nicely with Dina's Vintage Postcard set.

  • Stamp set includes 4 images and 8 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The map image measures approximately 3 5/8" x 2"
  • Designed by Dina Kowal
  • Stamp set is $15
Last week, I shared my CAS card using this set on the SnSS blog.  Today, I am sharing my non-CAS version.
Is not this map image gorgeous??!!  I just love all of the swirls and details of the stamp.  I started with watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and then used the direct to paper technique, with a Pool Party ink pad.  Next I spattered on diluted Island Indigo and Pool Party ink and dried it.  Then I sponged on more Pool Party to fill in some areas.  After that I spritzed water onto the inked paper and dried it.
I inked up the image with Midnight Muse and then wiped off some ink from the lower left hand corner swirl and applied Tangerine Tango ink with a marker. I Stamped the image, and then finally, spritzed the whole thing with Tattered Angels gold spray.
For another card I have made using this set, check the SnSS blog on Tuesday, May 28th!

Got my Head in the Clouds!

 Hello Again!

Welcome to Day #2 of our May Release Features!

These wonderful stamps match the cloud dies that many of you already own and love!   The sweet sentiments are a perfect fit for this fun and whimsical set.

  • Stamp set includes 4 images
  • Set measures approximately 4" 4"
  • The striped cloud image measures approximately 2 1/2" x 1 1/4"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set is $11
I like to try to use stamps in unconventional ways, and that is exactly what I did with this set. When I looked at the clouds as anything but clouds, the first thing I saw was a cupcake!

I stamped the largest cloud in Blushing Bride and cut it out with its matching die.  I inked the edges with Versa Magic Perfect Plumeria chalk ink.  The cup liner is cut out from corrugated white paper and colored with a diluted bit of Pool Party reinker.  I made the cherry by stamping the small cloud image in Raspberry Ripple and then using a small circle punch to punch out the cherry.  The sentiment is from the Little Boy Toys set.

And, as I could not get enough of the Landscape Silhouette set, particularly the African plains image, I had to do a sunset image of Africa!  This time my cloud images and matching dies are found in a tree!
Don't you just love the versatility of these clouds??  I stamped the clouds on River Rock cs using Old Olive and Lucky Limeade inks and die cut them out.  I sponged my background on Naturals White cs and stamped a bit of a landscape silhouette image (duck in pond image) off the left side of the paper.  The sentiment is from another new set, Across the Miles.
The tree trunk is free handed; the branches are made by using a Memory Box branch die.
Check out some of the fabulous samples made by the talented DT in the thumbnails

Hopping to see the Sights!

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to be joining you for my first Sweet n Sassy Stamps blog hop!  Today, we are featuring the Landscape set.

Korin added so many wonderful images to this set-they really span the globe!
  • Stamp set includes 12 images
  • Set measures approximately 8" 6"
  • The cityscape image measures approximately 4 1/8" x 7/8"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set is priced at $26
Here is my card, using this great masculine duck and cat tails image~

My father was an avid hunter when I was younger and this included duck hunting.  I thought this was a perfect image for a Father's Day card.  I added the sentiment from the set, Precious Poppies and tucked some larger cat tails in along the side with an image from the set, Serene Silhouettes

And I have a second card, using this wonderful city scape~

I wanted to create a graphic card with an "urban" feel, so I used alot of straight lines, metal (brads) and some black spatter.

Sun-Kissed Release

Hello Everyone!
The May release for Heartfelt Creations is here and I have 1 project to share with you today and another tomorrow!

I just love this beautiful banner from the latest release, Sun Kissed Fleurs.  I thought it would make a pretty wedding card.  I stamped the coordinating background image on white cs, then covered that with a vellum mat.  I cut a die with the Oval Window die and backed it with Certainly Celery cs that was embossed with the Holiday Oval ef from SU.  The banner is stamped on Paper Temptress cs and fussy cut out.  The Sun Kissed flowers were stamped on the Paper Temptress cs and die cut out with the newest flower die, that cuts 12 dies in one pass! The flowers were added with dimensionals to the banner.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Sweet n Sassy Guest Designing!

Hello Everyone!!!

I am so excited today to be sharing with you my card for my first week as Guest Designer for Sweet n Sassy Stamps!  Today you get a sneak peak of a set being released on May 10th, Across the Miles, by Dina Kowal.  If you haven't checked out Dina's blog, I would encourage you to do so!  What a talented lady!
I have challenged myself to make both CAS and non CAS cards with each of the new sets being released.  Here is my CAS version of Across the Miles-

Anyone who knows me knows I love to travel and EXPLORE, so this set is just perfect for me!  The quote on this card should be my motto!
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and generously spritzed it with water. I then dropped drops of Old Olive, Pool Party and Island Indigo reinkers onto the paper, allowing the ink to spread and run.  I dabbed up the excess liquid and dried the paper.  Next, I spattered some watered down Old Olive and Island Indigo reinker onto the inked paper, and again dried it.  The image was then stamped using Midnight Muse ink.  I die cut out the circle and matted it with Midnight Muse cs.

The other images were stamped in Midnight Muse; the plane was fussy cut out and adhered to the sentiment panel; the panel is popped up on dimensionals.
Be sure to hop with SnSS on the 14th; you will be able to see my gussied up card using this set, as well as all the other designers' beautiful work and inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blessings!
