Heartfelt Candy

Hello Friends, and Welcome to another Wednesday of wonderful inspiration from Heartfelt Creations.  I have two cards to share with you today.
This first one is a 6 x6 card.  I wanted a lot of white space on this card and I wanted it clean and bright~

I was low on MOJO for this card, so I took inspiration from this Cardabilities Sketch:

And this color combo from Colour Q~

This next card is much more formal and traditional~

I stamped the background floral mat in a repeating pattern, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  Gold cs and gold embossing are all that is needed to make this an elegant Christmas card.
Head on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog to be inspired by all of the gorgeous creations by the rest of the Design Team.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog.  You are much appreciated!  Have a blessed week!

It's Christmas with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Hello Everyone!
I have two Christmas cards to share with you today, using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' latest releases.
The first uses the Mod Ornaments set, which I have turned into elegant ornaments.  I love the versatility of this set!

I stamped the ornaments in light green, pink and purple, followed by overstamping them using the Music Background stamp and a darker shade of the colored ornament.  Next, I placed the ornament on the Versamark pad and got it inked up well, covering the entire surface.  I heat embossed the ornaments in clear ep. Then I inked up the edges of the ornaments with Versamark again by dragging the edges of the ornaments over the ink pad.  I then dragged the edges of the ornaments in gold ep.   I stamped the heart from the Vintage Postcard set, cut it out, embossed with clear and gold ep, and then popped it up with a dimensional over the heart on the oval ornament.  A little scoring and a bow finish the card.
The next card uses the Born This Day set.  I have to say, I LOVE this set-it is as sweet as can be and gets right to the point, don't you think?

I used one of my favorite sketches from Retosketches.  I wanted the card to be neutral and plain, as a reminder of how Christ came into this world.  The image is colored with Copics and die cut out-yes, I said die cut!  I just got my new dies for the Christmas sets!  The first card I made I fussy cut the image.  I love how quick and easy the die is.

I found a piece of cs on my desk that was left over from when I was trying the shaving cream technique with blue reinkers.  It was perfect for the night sky.  I sponged a little Dark Blue over the cs to blend the colors a bit then embossed the star in gold.   I embossed the background with a woodgrain ef, added bits of burlap and added a natural bow.
That's it for me today; I hope I have inspired you to get started on your Christmas cards!  You can get all of these stamps at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Hello and welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Inspiration Wednesday!
The Season of Joy release is so versatile with so many images and dies to work with.  This week I used the snowflake dies,  a sentiment circle and have once again used the gorgeous flourish.

The flourish is embossed in white on the background mat.  The sentiment circle is stamped twice and layered; the snowflakes have Dazzling Diamonds on them. Complete instructions can be found below.
Don't forget to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for more gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and have a blessed week!

School Time with Ribbon Carousel

Hello and Welcome to Week 3 of Ribbon Carousel's monthly challenge, Back to School!
You can have a chance to win a Ribbon Carousel by playing along in the challenge and linking up your project to RC85. Be sure your project is NEW and fits this month's theme of Back to School AND has ribbon or twine on it.
Here is my card, using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Punny Fruits and Veggies~

My card uses the current sketch at The Sweet Stop~

The apple in this stamp set comes complete with a smiley face, but in this case I did not want the face so I masked it when I inked up the image.  I colored the images with Prismacolor Pencils and cut squares out and matted them.  I added the dp, the scalloped edges and finished it off with some bright green Doodlebug twine.
Don't forget to check out the Ribbon Carousel blog for all of the other inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed week!

Touch of Fall

Good Morning!
We had absolutely glorious weather here yesterday, so I decided to take advantage of it.  I grabbed the dog and my son and hit the local parks and trails to do a little geocaching.  We had a wonderful time enjoying the cool temps and trying to discover treasure.  On the flipside, that means I came home to a messy house, so today I have to "put my nose to the grind" as the very old saying goes, and get some things done.
But, before washing dishes, scrubbing floors and doing laundry, I just had to get out the ink and paper and play along in today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.  Today's featured stamper is SLWhite and she has a gallery full of fun, colorful and beautifully colored cards, all with a touch of playfulness and whimsy.  I used one of the new stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps from the Seasonal Wreaths set~

I  started out with my current favorite acrylic paint, DecorArt Dazzling Metallics Splendid Gold, and painted a piece of white cs.  Once dry, I stamped on the image in Versamark and then embossed with gold ep. I colored the leaves and the bow with Copics, which, when used on the paint, have a lovely soft, transparent look.  The bow was stamped twice so it could be popped up with dimensionals.  I kept the card simple so that the wreath was the focal point.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a blessed week!

Feels Like Fall

Hello, friends!
It is absolutely gorgeous weather here in St. Louis this weekend, and I plan on taking full advantage of it and getting outside.  In between errands this morning, I worked in a little time to get inky.  Williams Sonoma is the inspiration site today on SCS (see the Inspiration Challenge) and the Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes is to use dry embossing on our card.  Here is what I came up with~

I used an image from the Season of Thanks set and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils.  I love gray and orange together, so these two photos- here and here- from Williams Sonoma served as my inspiration.
I embossed the Very Vanilla panel with the striped ef, to simulate the siding in the photo of the wreath.  I embossed the Basic Gray cs with the wood grain ef to simulate the gray hutch in the second photo (cycling photo at the top of the screen).

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and have a blessed weekend!

Over the Roof Tops...

That's were this reindeer is!  I don't know how many of you have seen the movie, 'Prancer', but it is one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies (along with White Christmas) and this reindeer reminds me of Prancer.
'Prancer' is one of several silhouette stamps in Korin's new release, Christmas Silhouettes.   Without further ado...

Welcome to day 5 of our September feature Blog Hops!
Today we're featuring Korin's beautiful new Christmas Silhouettes stamp set and coordinating dies.

I started this card with masking a moon and masking my snowy ground.  Then I sponged Night of Navy and Midnight Muse onto the panel, darker on the bottom and gradually getting lighter towards the moon.  I sponged just a hint of yellow ink on a portion of the moon and then stamped the reindeer.  I stamped the houses, using a T-square ruler to line them up and added smoke from the chimneys by 'painting' on white craft paint with a Q-tip.  The sentiment is popped up on dimensionals. I added thinestones, a snowflake trinquet and 2 leaves made with the Small Leaves dies.

This card is a much more traditional card using the holly silhouette image.  I heat embossed the leaves in white ep on green cs and fussy cut them out (but you do not have to do that as there are now dies available to do the hard part for you!) and framed the sentiment from the Mod Ornaments set with them.  A little cream ribbon, embossing, a scalloped edge and pearls finish off the card.
Here are the details on all of the new goodies with this set-

  • Stamp set includes 6 images and 6 mix & match sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The tree image measures approximately 1 1/2" x 3"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $15
  • Die set - $21.25
  • Bundle ($36.25 value) - $32

I created a "jar" using clear cardstock.  Here is a better picture of how it looks-

This next card is just beautiful in real life, but between the gold embossing powder and the white on white embossing, I just could not get a good picture of it.

I absolutely love the flourish image in the new collection.  It is so versatile as a background image or a stand alone image.  I can see myself using this over and over!  I used glossy card stock for the decorative edge, so I had light bouncing off all sorts of shiney surfaces!  It really is better in real life!

You can read the complete instructions of how to make these cards below.  Check out all of the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Design Team on the Heartfelt Creations blog

Born on This Day

Hello, Everyone!
I am so glad you are here and I hope you are joining us for the Sweet n' Sassy blog hop.  There are so many beautiful cards to see; you are sure to be inspired. Today's set has to be my favorite of the release.
Welcome to day 4 of our September feature Blog Hops!
Today we're featuring Korin's precious new Born This Day stamp set and coordinating dies.

I decided I wanted an outside scene, so I cut the window frame off of the image.  I colored the image with copics and fussy cut it out (but you won't have to do that as there is now a die available to do the work for you!). I sponged a piece of paper with Night of Navy ink on top and a small section of Crumb Cake ink on the bottom for the ground.  I embossed the star with silver ep and added a few dots of Versamark and embossed them as well to add stars to my night sky.  I painted a piece of white cs with DecorArt Splendid Gold ink and punched out a circle from it to make a halo to put behind Baby Jesus' head.

Here are the deets on this precious set-

  • Stamp set includes 2 images and 13 sentiments and scripture verses
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The manger image measures approximately 2 1/4" x 2 1/2"

Contemporary Christmas

Welcome to day 3 of our September feature Blog Hops!
Today we're featuring Korin's fun new Mod Ornaments set which coordinates with our current ornament dies.
I thought these fun, contemporary styled ornaments were perfect used with the trendy color combo of red and aqua.

I started by sponging some Bahama Breeze on white cs, then stamped the image in Versamark so that the snowflake was centered over the Bahama Breeze color.  The ornament was then embossed in Pool Party.  MY designer paper is actually Martha Stewart self adhesive border strips that I snagged at a bargain price last year after Christmas.

Here are all the details for this new set-

  • Stamp set includes 4 images and 9 mix & match sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The round ornament measures approximately 1 3/4" wide
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $15

Golden Christmas

Hello, Everyone!
I hope you are all having a blessed Sunday.  Church and lunch with a friend are on my agenda, then home to blog hop with Sweet n Sassy Stamps!
Welcome to day 2 of our September feature Blog Hops!
Today we're featuring Korin's sweet new Magic of Christmas stamp set.

I bought some gold leaf at a stamping convention last month and have been waiting for the right stamp to use it with.  This was the perfect image!  I inked up the fun tree with black craft ink, then coated it with Sticky Powder, heated it and then added the multi-colored gold leaf; the products are from QKR Stampede.   I must admit I have never used gold leaf before, but when I tried these products at the convention, I was sold!
I love the various colors of this gold leaf- this one is gold, orange'y' gold, red, and purple.  When I burnished the gold leaf onto the Christmas tree, I ended up with purple at the top of the tree,  I liked how this stands out, so I made purple my accent color.
Here are the details for this fun stamp set-

  • Stamp set includes 2 images and 4 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 3"
  • The tree image measures approximately 2" x 2 1/4
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $9

I got a chance to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at SCS today- actually, I got the card done late last night, which is a rarity for me! We were to choose an inspiration pic off of a Pinterest board of Audrie's, the challenge hostess.  For those of you who like inspiration challenges, you may want to check it out; Audrie had some excellent inspiration for us to peruse.  Here is my card-

The stamps are from the latest Sweet 'n Sassy Release.  I used an altered version of the Triple Stamp Technique to make this CAS card.   I fussy cut the green snowflake out (although dies are now available to do this fussy work for you!) and popped it up on a dimensional.  A little bling finishes off this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by on this beautiful weekend!
Have  blessed day~

Hanging Out with Sweet n Sassy Stamps!

Hello Everyone!  I am so thrilled to be joining Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Design Team! What an honor and a privilege to be stamping beside so many amazing stampers and friends whom I have admired for so long!  A huge thanks to Korin for having faith in me.
And how fun is it to start off on a design team with an entire Christmas release!?
Welcome to day 1 of our September feature Blog Hops!
Today we're featuring Korin's new Seasonal Wreaths stamp set and coordinating dies!

  • Stamp set includes 5 images and 19 mix and match sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 6" x 8"
  • The wreath images measure approximately 2 1/4" wide
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $26
  • Die set - $33.25
  • Bundle (a $59.25 value) - $53
So I had to be the rebel in the group and instead of using a Christmas wreath, I decided to use the floral wreath; it makes a great sympathy card, which, sadly, I seem to need too many of.
I am usually a lover of all things green, but lately I have been enjoying the blue and browns combo.  The image was first embossed in gold and cut out; then I stamped the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The flowers were also cut out and adhered to the embossed wreath.  A little bit of sponging, a scalloped edge and a bow complete the card!
Check out some of the fabulous samples made by our talented DT in the thumbnails below.
Be sure to leave a comment of each of the blogs along your journey because we're giving away (6) $15 store credits (1 winner will be chosen from each of the 6 blog hops).
The deadline to comment for a chance to win is midnight EST Friday, September 13th.  The list of winners will be announced on our website homepage by Monday, September 16th.
Thanks so much for joining us!  Enjoy the hop!
