Souper Dooper Friends!

 Hello, Hello!  

Well, the school year has begun.  All I can say is it is going to be interesting! 

 A dear friend of mine has just recently retired from teaching.  She is one of those people who brings out the best in me.  She is also a collector of Fiestaware!  This card is for her!

It is Theme Friendship at Impression Obsession today.  I used the Soup Bowl Dies to create this stack of Fiestaware.  Tucked in the top bowl is a silver spoon, die cut with the Soup Spoons Dies.  The sentiment is from the Soup Sayings Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Alabaster White ep on black cs. My background panel is an old shaving cream piece I had in my stash.  A few enamel dots finish the card.

Splitcoast and Scallops

  Hello Hello!  

Well, we are knee deep in the craziness of a new school year.  Crafting is definitely my escape, I just need to find time for it now.  Already missing those lazy summer months.  

You can escape with this week's sketch from Splitcoaststampers.  I stayed 100% true to the sketch, which is unusual for me.  

My scalloped edge was created with the Rainbow Scallops Stamp from Impression Obsession.  I stamped it 3 times using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.   Using a Black Pigma Micron pen, I added more doodling to the images.  The sentiment, Wildly Capable, was stamped with IO Black ink.  A few sequins finish the card.  Easy peasy!

Scare a Crow

Hello!

The closer we get to September, the more excited I get about fall.  I love everything about it.  Including pumpkin patches, corn mazes and scare crows.  Are you looking forward to fall? 

These dies are brand new from Spellbinders and are part of the Happy Harvest Collection.  This set is aptly named Scare a Crow.  All of the pieces were die cut from white cs and colored with Copics,   The corn stalks are so stinkin cute!  They were assembled using Gina k. Connect Glue.  The background was done with distress inks.  I used a bit of torn paper as a mask to create a bit of a horizon.  This is one of my favorite fall sentiments which is from the Happy Scarecrow Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

Birthday Lion

Hello!

It's the first week of school here, so I may be MIA for awhile, buried under all of the first week of school work.  

This animal knows how to party!  

Isn't he the cutest lion??  He kind of reminds me of the lion in Madagascar.  Lion from Impression Obsession was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I set him aside and worked on my background.  

I sponged distress inks and distress oxides on some Bristol cs.  I then spritzed it with some water and dried it.  Then I added the ink to my craft mat, spritzed it with water and dabbed the cs into it, trying to keep the colors in the same general area as the sponged colors.  Once everything was dry. I added a white ring that I die cut using the Wacky Stitched Circle Dies. I stamped the 'party like an animal' sentiment with IO Black Ink.  Then I heat embossed the 'Happy Birthday' with Alabaster white embossing powder and die cut the sentiment with the Rounded Corner Sentiments 2 Dies.  Both sentiments are from the Party Animal Stamp Set. 

The lion was placed on a blue die cut circle (think circus animal) and then popped up on extra pieces of cs, as was the sentiment strip.  3 black sequins finish the card.

Veggie Soup

 Hello Friends! 

It is a whirlwind of a week, being back at work and getting ready for a new school year.  It still feels like summer and it went by waaaay too fast!  I do love fall, though, especially fall foods!  Soups. stews and chilis are my favorites in the crock pot.  Chicken soup with lots of veggies is one of my favorites.  

Looks like vegetable soup is on the menu here!  

I started with a large white bowl, using the new, Impression Obsession Soup Bowl Dies.  I filled the bowl with carrots (using the Carrot, Beet and Radish Dies) and an artichoke using the Artichoke Die.  The carrots were die cut from white cs and colored with Copics.  The artichoke was die cut from a light green cs and colored with Copics.  The sentiment, from the Impression Obsession Soup Sayings Stamp Set, was heat embossed on black cs in white ep.  It was then die cut with a Rounded Corner Sentiment 2 Die.  

The background panel was die cut with a rectangle die from the IO Crazy Stitched Rectangle Set.  It was then embossed using the Diamond Star Embossing Folder from Altenew,
