Bread of Life

 Hello Friends, 

I have been studying the Old Testament (Deuteronomy) and reading through the Bible in a Year.  Jewish faith and tradition have also been of interest to me.  I discovered Jason Sobel, a Messianic Rabbi;  he has YouTube videos, books and TV shows.  He is also involved with The Chosen as a spiritual advisor.  It has been fascinating to learn from him how the OT connects to the NT.  

'Jesus is the Bread of Life', John 6:48, has a much richer meaning to me now as I understand the Jewish symbolism.  In ancient days, bread was an essential staple food.  It gave life.  In the OT, God sent 'bread from heaven (manna) to feed the Isrealites while they wandered in the desert.  In the same way, Jesus is essential to our eternal life.  And did you know, Bethlehem in Hebrew means 'House of Bread'?  How amazing is that that the Bread of Life was born in the House of Bread.  He became our spiritual bread and we take bread during communion to remember Him.  

The more I dig, the more I learn, and I am loving it. 

John 6:35, 'I am the bread of life' and John 6:48-51 were perfect verses to journal about THE Bread of Life.  I started out with Distress Oxide ink and sponged Tattered Rose, Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Frayed Burlap ink for the background.  I determined the placement of my lettering and then started stamping.  

The word, Bread, is stamped with Momento Rich Cocoa Ink, using the Chunky Alpha Stamp Set from SnSS.  The word, house, uses the stamp set, School Days Alpha and the connector words are from sets His Wings and Because Jesus.  

The wheat was done with an old stencil from Stamplorations and I used Gathered Twigs and Brushed Corduroy Ink.  The bread was drawn by hand (lightly, in pencil) and then colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  After cutting the bread out, I lightly outlined it with a Pigma Micron Pen.  

Lastly, the Psalms 34 verse is from a Divinity Designs Stamp Set.

Furry Friend

  Hello, Hello!  

It is a rainy day here (yeah!) so I am inside, doing a bit of crafting and Bible study.  I love neutrals and thought the challenge at Inspired By would be a fun one.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches- it makes a great CAS card.

  I started with this darling fox from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Fur-ever Friends Stamp Set.  The fox was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  There are Furever Friends matching dies if you are not into fussy cutting.  

The background oval was stamped with the SnSS Delightfully Delicate Background Stamp in black ink.   I added a strip of light grey cardstock that is embellished with a thin strip of black cardstock.  Everything was mounted to a kraft cs card base.  

The sentiment is from the gorgeous Precious Poppies Stamp Set and is stamped with Versafine Black Ink.  A few sequins finish the card.

Party Balloon and Sale!

 Hello, Hello!

Yep, second post today- can you believe it??

Sharing an easy, bright and fun card using a Spellbinders die, Balloon Party Animal.  

All I needed was two shades of yellow cardstock to create the balloon.  I did add some white highlights using a Gelly roll white pen.
