Hello, Hello!
This weekend was productive, fall-like, and fast! I am beginning Bible study and this fall we are studying the book of Hebrews. Part of Bible study is memorizing scripture-something that I have never been good at or enjoyed- but I am determined to put God's Word in my heart.
I decided that I would journal the scripture verses that are to be memorized. For the next 6 weeks we are working on Hebrews 1:1-7.
I opted for a muted color palette (trying to break out of a color rut). I penciled in my scripture to make sure I had room for it. Once I had that figured out, I erased it and then added color to the page with Distress Oxide ink in Evergreen Bough and Broken China. Using a couple of leaf stencils, I added leaves using the same colors. I added fern fronds using a stencil as well.
The bird image comes from the SnSS set, Singing Praises. The bird was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The Flowers (oh, how I love these flowers) is from the new My Savior's Love Stamp Set. Both images were fussy cut out and glued to the page.
The scripture was written using a .03 Pigma Micron Pen. I put a sheet of notebook paper behind my page so I could see the lines faintly and use them as a guide to write in straight lines. I am terrible at writing without lines- everything tends to slant upwards, as you can see in my scripture reference.
I love how this turned out and writing out the scripture has helped me to start memorizing it. I think I will write out the cross reference verses from Hebrews as well.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!
