Night Star

 Hello All!  

Happy Thanksgiving Week!  

My favorite happy snowman made his way onto this winter scene card.  

He really is my absolute favorite snowman.  He is from SnSS.  You can find him in this sweet snowman set, Crazy About Snowmen.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set.  

I started with a water colored panel (using Ken Oliver Color Burst Powders), then stamped a tree line on the panel using a stamp from the SnSS, Thrill of Hope.  I used Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and my MISTI to get a good, dark, impression, especially since I was stamping on watercolor paper-the MISTI allowed me to stamp several times, with perfect placement of the stamp.  Once I knew where I would place the snowman,  I stamped the star with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Gina K Designs Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  
I stamped the sentiment in the Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink, and then adhered the snowman, popping him up on some scrap cs.  A few SSS Moonshine Sequins finish off the card.

Deck the Halls

 Happy Weekend, All!  

I told my friend I would mail Christmas cards to her over Thanksgiving break so I am scrambling to get a few more done before then.  

I pulled out an oldie but goodie from Verve (remember them?) and paired it with the perfect sentiment from the SnSS Deck the Halls Stamp Set.  

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. 

 I die cut 3 circles from some patterned paper.  The stockings were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics then die cut out.  I sponged a little bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink onto the white card base then added a strip of green cs between that and the patterned paper.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. The stockings were popped up just a bit with a few pieces of scrap cs and adhered in the circles.  I added a few sequins for sparkle.

Peace on Earth

 Hello!

One of my all time favorite Christmas stamps is the Born This Day stamp set from SnSS.  You can get the discounted dies with it for a 10% savings.  

I stayed neutral for this card and used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to complete the card.  

As you can seem I rotated the sketch.  The wood look strip is not matted, but instead I have used two 1/8" dark brown strips on either side of it.  

The image was grounded with a frame from the Decorative Frames Stamp and Die Bundle.  

The Christmas star is embossed with Gina K Fine Detail Embossing Powder.  A few SSS Moonshine Sequins finish the card.

Scripture Writing

 Hello All!  

My Bible study group and I are beginning a new session of Bible study; we are continuing on with the book of Hebrews.  One of the assignments is to write out the memory verses, Hebrews 1:1-14.  Now, of course I could not do that without prettying things up!  

It also gave me a chance to play just a little bit with a new stamp set, SnSS Books of the Bible Stamp Set.  I just used the colon and numbers here.  Let me back up; i started by sponging the edges of the printable page with Wild Honey Distress Ink, followed by using a butterfly stencil and sponging Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over the Wild Honey.  

Next up, stamping butterflies from the SnSS Made New Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on heavy weight printer paper.  They were all colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  The scripture verses were then written out using a Zig Millenium marker.  

The title, Hebrews, was stamped in a dark purple ink (looks black here) using the Chunky Alpha Stamp Set.  Lastly, (or so I thought), the butterflies were adhered and the numbers were stamped.  The page did not quite look finished so I added the doodled line all around the edges.
