Loving Dies with Impression Obsession

 Hello and Happy Wednesday! 

Today we are sharing inspiration with Impression Obsession dies.  And let me tell ya, for someone who has been more of a stamp girl, I am loving these dies! You can find more 'die' inspiration on the IO blog.  

I have been having fun with these alpha dies.  I knew I wanted to use them and with a little Pinterest inspiration, came up with this tea-riffic idea!  I die cut the Tea/Cocoa Cup from light blue cs, colored the 'tea' bit of the die and then made a tea bag tag with the tag in the set.  To make the tea bag tag, I only used a portion of the tag die cut.  As I cut the faux stitching along the bottom of the tag off when I shortened it, I added the stitching back by using the Border Stitching Dies.  

The background panel is stamped with one of my favorite background stamps, the Gingham Cover A Card Stamp.  The panel was then diecut with the Crazy Stitched Die Set.  

The cup was grounded with a doily and washi tape.  The sentiment was die cut with the Alpha Typewriter LC Die.  I have officially become obsessed with this die!  Not too big and not too small, it is really versatile.  I have all sorts of ideas 'brewing' in my head, but time is limited.  

This card was actually the first card I made for today, but I had some sort of a 'brain malfunction' and posted this card earlier in the week, forgetting it was for today.  This is what really started my obsession with the Alpha Typewriter LC Die.  

I was inspired by Pinterest as well for this card.  I diecut the background panel with the same Crazy Stitched Die Set, then matted it with black cs.  I die cut lots of Ls, Os, Vs, and Es.  I glued the letters on for the falling in love effect.  The heart was done with a stencil.

Falling in Love

 Hey All! 

Still making Valentine cards over here.  Today's card is for several challenges as Love seems to be a pretty common theme right now.  I was initially inspired to make this card from a photo I have pinned on one of my pinterest boards.  Then when I spotted the same image in the mood board for the Double D Challenges, I knew I had to make it today.  

Here is the mood board.  I bet you can guess which photo inspired me!  

This was so easy, albeit a bit time consuming.  I started with a panel that I had die cut with my rectangle from the IO Crazy Stitched Die Set.  Then, I started die cutting black letters.  These letters were the perfect size and are from the Alphabet Typewriter Lower Case Die.  Next, I used a heart stencil I had and sponged with some Candied Apple Distress Ink.  Then it was just a matter of arranging and gluing down the letters.  I matted the panel with black cardstock, mounted it on the card base and added some sequins to finish it off.  

And this may be the first card I ever made without a single stamp!

Tiger Lilies

 Yep, you guessed it, I love this stamp,  Alleluia Lilies from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

I colored this stem of lilies with Copics in yellows and oranges and then fussy cut them out.  

Once colored, I really couldn't decide what to do.  This cardstock ring in teal was sitting on my desk and when I picked it up, it seemed like a match made in heaven. It had been sponged with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and distressed with water droplets. 

 The flowers and bits of grass from the Tall Grass Die are bursting from the circle which is grounded with a larger striped circle die cut with a  circle die from the Wacky Stitched Circles Die Set and a couple of horizontal strips of cs.  The grass was also colored with Copics. 

The background panel is a piece of Vanilla cs that was embossed with a Stripes Embossing Folder.  I tried to line the embossed lines up with the lines in the larger circle patterned paper.  The sentiment is from the Lots of Love Stamp Set.  I finished the card off with some sequins for sparkle.

An Old is New Valentine

 Hello!  

Today the Impression Obsession team is sharing inspiration with older goodies from IO.  With Valentines Day right around the corner, a valentine card seemed to be the logical choice.  

This simple stamp, Beets,  is perfect for someone special.  I especially like the font! I die cut my tag using the Stitched Tag Die.  The background is done with one of my favorite background stamps, Free Spirit Dot Cover A Card.

Miss You. Love You.

 Hello All, 

I have a quick card to share today, using a beautiful new background stamp from IO stamps.  The stamp is Peony Pattern Cover a Card- love the versatility of this stamp.  

I did tone on tone stamping on both a coral cs and kraft cs.  The kraft panel is die cut with the rectangle from the Crazy Stitched Die Set.  

I stamped the sentiment, Love You Always, in IO Black Ink on the coral panel. I then die cut a circle out using the Scalloped Stitched Circles Die Set.  The circle is popped up on foam tape and a few sequins were added for sparkle.

Tropical

 Good Morning, Everyone!

This gorgeous flower is a brand new floral set at Sweet n Sassy Stamps, Alleluia Lilies.  I decided to give the card a tropical look, so after stamping the image in InkOn 3 Fade Out No Line Coloring Ink I did some no line coloring with Copics in oranges and yellows.  I also colored a palm branch in addition to heat embossing it in Brutus Monroe Alabaster White ep on vellum a couple of times.  All the images were fussy cut out.  

To ground the image, I used a panel that had been in my stash.  I had made it some time ago.  It is done with a stencil, coffee filter, Ken Oliver Colorburstshttps://shrsl.com/2q3ey, and Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer filled with water.  

Start with a piece of watercolor paper, such as this Canson Watercolor Paper.  Lay your stencil on the paper- in this case I used the Mandela Stencil from Crafter's Workshop.  Put a flattened out coffee filter on top of the stencil.  Now comes the fun part.  Sprinkle your Colorburst Powders on top of the coffee filter and then spritz with water.  This allows the color to seep through the filter to the open spaces of the stencil, but to not totally oversaturate the paper or let lots and lots of color run under the stencil.  I guess you could say it is more controlled.  

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Sentimental Mash Up Stamp Set stamped with Versafine Black Ink and a few of my favorite sequins, SSS Moonshine sequins.

This card is about 3.5 x 8.5".  The image was stamped with IO Black Ink on Arches Watercolor
Paper and then watercolored with my absolute favorite paint, Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  The sentiment, Inking of You, which is perfect for your crafty friends, was also stamped with IO Black Ink; I added black lines on either side of the sentiment to finish it off.  

This next card is done with Dina's Paint Tubes Stamp.  Again, for the crafty person, this is a perfect stamp.  I stamped the image with IO Black ink on Arches Watercolor Paper and then watercolored the image.  The sentiment, Creative Sister, was stamped in IO Black Ink.  I die cut the panel using the Crazy Stitched Die Set.  A single enamel dot finishes the card.
