Have a Dazzling Thanksgiving!

Hi Everyone!

Hoping everyone has a Happy Happy Thanksgiving!  If you are not spending all of your free time shopping for bargains, why not join us at Add a Little Dazzle for this week's newest challenge?  The Design Team is embossing this week, using stencils.

Here is your inspiration photo~

I used a piece of Midnight Blue (love that color!) Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal, clear embossing paste, Martha Stewart Fine Glitter and my Add a Little Dazzle Mosaic Swirls Background Stainless Steel Stencil.  I have to say, this is my only stainless stencil and WOW, what a difference from plastic stencils.  It is super sturdy- no shifting of the stencil or anything!
So, first I embossed the metal, using the stencil and suede and paper stump from The Basic Embossing Tool Kit.  Once I had dry embossed the entire image, I embossed again, this time using clear embossing paste.  I added a good amount of glitter to the entire embossed area, shook off the loose glitter and let the whole thing dry.
My snowy landscape was cut freehand and glittered with Stampendous' glitter.  The deer is cut using the Top Dog Dies Darling Deer Die.
Admittedly, I had different plans for this stencil in the beginning.  But, once I got started, what I saw with this stencil and Midnight Blue Metal was a night sky.  To me, the glitter gives the sky a Northern Lights appearance.  I love how it turned out!
I sure hope you can join us this week!  As always, there is a prize involved!
You do not need to use craft metal, but if you have it, we would LOVE to see it!

edit-I am linking this card up to the End of Term Blog Hop over at Mynn's House of Cards.

Tag- You're It!

Hello Everyone!
Just a quick post today as I am having computer trouble.   I have used one  Top Dog Dies Tag Die to make  3 very different  Christmas tags.   The first is CAS and rustic - I used the new Tag Die and the Snowman Globe Die,  along with a Stampin Up Woodgrain Background Stamp.   The trees are inlaid in the tag.

I used the same two dies for this snowman tag.   In addition,  the mound of snow is from the Darling Deer Die Set.   I gave this sweet guy a felt hat!

The last tag is a bit vintage;  I achieved this with some great dp from Theresa Collins.   For this tag I  used the Snowman  Globe  Die  to cut  the circle  and the Vintage  Numbers  Die along with the Tag Die.

I love this new Tag Die!  Not only does it make great tags,  but it is great for layering!   But that is another post!

Thanks for stopping by!

Add a Little Dazzle/Neat and Tangled Blog Hop Day 5

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have been enjoying the Add a Little Dazzle/Neat and Tangled inspiration all week!  Today is the last day of inspiration.  I have combined two stamp sets and used Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal in Brushed Bronze for this card~

I did a lot of masking here to isolate the words 'Jesus', Hope', and 'Love', using the Neat and Tangled Sets, Sunday School Songs and Hope Anchors.  The words were embossed with gold ep.
I stamped the anchor on a piece of Brushed Bronze craft metal with Versamark and then clear embossed it.  It was then fussy cut out.  Once cut out, I added a couple of layers of UTEE to give dimension to the anchor.
I used the sketch at Addicted to CAS~

What's the Word with Top Dog Dies?

Hello Again!

Top Dog Dies has released MORE dies!  Wow, I love the word dies they are coming out with! They have the great seasonal ones- Give Thanks and Merry Christmas- and now they have all occasion ones as well.

I paired the Top Dog Dies Cool Cats Die Set with two new Die Sets- Hello Die Set and the fabulous Gift Tag Die Set!  I also created a frame using the brand new Thank You Die Set.  I thought the sequins made such a cute collar!
I used to think I could not make a card without stamping, but these dies make it so easy- and quick!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stay warm, everyone!

Another Wednesday Challenge and Add a Little Dazzle/Neat and Tangled Blog Hop Day 3

Hi Everyone!

November is flying by and Thanksgiving is next week!  And we are back again with another Wednesday challenge at Add a Little Dazzle.  We are in the middle of our week long blog hop, sharing inspiration with the fun, unique stamps from Neat and Tangled. So let's get started with today's hop- make sure to leave some love to be entered for a chance at one of two packs up for grabs!

This stamp, Anchors Away, was one I just HAD to have!  I love everything about it!  Could not wait to emboss this!

I used my Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Wave dies along with the Inlaid Die technique to add my 'ocean' border to the sentiment; I used Baby Blue and Midnight Blue Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets. I die cut the Baby Blue Craft Metal first and inlaid it, using some washi tape on the backside to keep it in place.  Next, I placed the wave die below the first wave, overlapping it some with the Baby Blue wave die cut.  This allowed my to inlay the Midnight Blue Craft Metal die cut.  The entire 'wave' panel was edged with Glimmering Gold Craft Metal Sheet. I masked off the bottom of the sentiment and heat embossed the upper words, 'Hope anchors' with gold ep.
The rest of the image was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and heat embossed with gold ep.

Be sure to visit each of the designers on this blog hop!

Let it Snow!

Hi There!

Have you had your first snow yet?  Seems like a lot of people have seen an early winter; we have here in St Louis.  With snow on the brain (and on the ground), I thought I would get out my all time favorite snowman image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. It is also the image that first brought me to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps store.  I have had the pleasure of designing with Korin at SNSS for over a year now.  However, I have decided it is time to let some things go to try and get back to a somewhat normal life-while I love it, stamping during all waking hours when I am not at work is not 'normal' in my book!

On to the card~

Isn't he the cutest??  I love the sentiments that come with this set, Welcome Jesus, too.
As I wanted to color on kraft cardstock, I got out my Prismacolor Pencils and colored up this sweet image.  Since my initial idea for the card was not coming to fruition on kraft cardstock, I fussy cut out the snowman and layered him up for a bit of a country/primitive look. Mr Snowman is also all sparkly with a coat of fine glitter.
I used Jen's sketch at Deconstucting Jen~

And colors from Christmas Card Challenges~

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!  Stay warm!

November Release with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the November New Release Blog Hop with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!
November is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' birthday, so we are celebrating with lots of new products including birthday goodies.  There is something for everyone in this release!

I have used two new products for this card- the Bare Tree Die and the Scripture and Sentiment Companion Set for this card.  I sponged the sunset and added the tree and yellow leaves (was going for an Aspen tree).  The edge of the oval is embossed with gold ep.  Although you can not see it, the leaves have a wonderful sparkle to them, having used my Wink of Stella pen on them.  I could not find a purple button, so I made my own by stacking and gluing several layers of die cut cardstock circles and then adding a coat of Crystal Effects over the top.

This card uses the new Birthday Word Die, the Baked For You Stamp Set, Lots-a-Spots Stamp Set, Companion Word Stamp Set, and Music Background Stamp.

I cut the candle from the Birthday Word Die, fussy cut my cupcake from the Baked For You Stamp Set (do yourself a favor and get the matching die!)  and then glued the two together and embossed with 2 layers of clear ep.  I used the cupcake with candle as the 'i' in the word 'Birthday'.
The rest of the word 'Birthday' is stamped with the Music Background image and then heat embossed with 2 layers of clear ep.
The words 'happy' and 'to you' are heat embossed as well.  For a little added interest, I stamped the circle image from Lots-a-Spots to resemble bubbles rising.

One random commenter from one of the DT blogs will be selected to win a $10 Gift Code to be used at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  You have until Thursday, November 20th at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be posted on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Friday, November 21st!

An Advent Calendar with Top Dog Dies

Hello All!

We are barreling towards Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be upon us!  I got ahead of the craziness and made an Advent Calendar using CutCardStock and dies from Top Dog Dies.

I love how this turned out!  Using my We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board made this an easy peasy project.
I used 12 x 12 Basis cardstock from CutCardStock; it is the perfect weight for the boxes and has a bit of texture.  I cut the cardstock into 6 x 6 squares.
Then it was a matter of punching and scoring 24 pieces of paper; once this was done, I stamped approximately 2/3 of the boxes with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Music Background Stamp.  For a wonderful shimmer, I stamped them with Delicata Gold Ink.
Next, I die cut the numbers using the Vintage Numbers Die Set from Top Dog Dies.  For even more holiday sparkle, I used the Curious Metallic cardstock from CutCardStock for the numbers.
I also added a few embellishments using the Top Dog Dies Darling Deer Die Set, Snowman Globe Die Set and Merry Christmas Die Set.

I painted a stick I found in my backyard- first I spray painted it with Bronze paint, then I sponged it with white and gold acrylic craft paint.  The boxes were all tied up with twine and then tied to the branch.

I just love how this turned out.  I have always admired people who just grab some item from nature and do amazing things with it.  I am thrilled with how all of the components came together here; even the greenery which I dug out of the garage sale pile!

Well, on to other things on the Christmas 'to do' list!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dazzling and Rustic

Hi Everyone, and welcome to another Wednesday of Add a Little Dazzle
inspiration and a brand new challenge!

If you have been following me any length of time, you know I love rustic and texture, so this was the perfect inspiration photo for me!

I started with a piece of Nature Gmund Savanna Textured cardstock from CutCardStock.  I just love this stuff!  I added some embossed vellum, followed by a piece of woodgrain dp that has been heat embossed with a SU Christmas greeting.
I tried out my new Memory Box Die, Lydia Ornament, die cutting the ornament in silver and gold Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal.  I LOVE the contrast of the shiny metal and the other rustic components.  I also added some pine sprigs using my Die-Namites Winter Branch Die and some green cardstock.

I hope you can join us and play along in our challenge this week!  You do not need to use Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal, but if you have it we would love to see it!

If you are thinking you need your own Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal to bring some elegance and dazzle to your projects, you can purchase it HERE.   I thank you in advance as I get credit for your purchase.
 THANK YOU!
I am entering this in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge, Ornaments as well as Festive Friday's Challenge #44, with this gorgeous inspiration photo of all things natural!
And, as I was hopelessly without mojo this week, my sketch came from Fusion

Hope you can join us and have a blessed week!

A Little Watercolor with New Top Dog Dies

Hi Everyone!

Top Dog Dies just released 6 more new die sets!  This fantastic Thanks A2 Mat Die Set can be as simple or elaborate as you want.  I went CAS with my first card~

I used watercolor paper for the Thanks A2 Mat Die; my Inktense Pencils have been neglected lately, so I got them out and did a little rainbow coloring as well as ombre technique on the word 'thanks'.
I kept the center of the die cut that would normally be discarded, and trimmed it down so that when I offset the word there would be a thin black outline around it.
I love that this is such a super simple card and yet packs a big punch!

Interested in this new die?  You can check it out HERE!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will be back Thursday with a Christmas project that you won't want to miss!

Let It Snow- Globe!

Hi Everyone!

I am sharing more inspiration with Top Dog Dies today.  I am using the adorable, new die, Snowman Globe Die Set, as well as the new Signature Die, Beatrix.

I turned the snow globe into a shaker card, going with gold and a pop of pink color.  I wanted this to be a 'Mrs. Snowman', so instead of a top hat (which is included in the die set), I fashioned a stocking cap from what is actually a bandana from the Top Dog Dies Darling Deer Die Set.
The snow globe is backed with  a layer cut with the Top Dog Dies Signature Die Beatrix.  I stamped snowflakes, using the Spectacular Snowflakes Stamp Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, around the edge of the die cut and then ran the edges across a Versamark stamp pad and heat embossed with gold ep.
Once the snowflake panel was complete, I die cut a circle using the circle shape from the Top Dog Dies Snowman Globe Set, and then placed the snow globe on the background, fitting the globe into the die cut circle so that it was recessed.  The snowflake panel is popped up on dimensionals.
I added an embossed sentiment (from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps) and a SU baker's twine bow.

I am entering this in the 613 Avenue Create Challenge this week, Holiday Thanks.
The Challenge at Great Impressions this month is 'Thankful Thoughts'.

If you love this Snowman Globe Die, you can purchase it HERE
If you love the Signature Beatrix Die, you can purchase it HERE.

Classic Christmas Cardinal

Hello Everyone!

I am up on the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog today, with a festive, traditional Christmas card.

This is a fairly straight forward card; the image was colored with Copics and the pine cone and lower branches on the pine bough were fussy cut.  I used my MISTI to stamp a perfect sentiment strip.

I got my sketch inspiration from RetroSketches~

In addition, inspiration for the traditional Christmas colors came from Addicted to Stamps and More~

Add a Little Dazzle to Your Christmas!

Hello Everyone!

Here we are in the month of November already!  Don't blink- it will be Thanksgiving before you know it!  At Add a Little Dazzle, we are gearing up for Christmas and have a gorgeous photo today.  The challenge is actually a color challenge, but I took inspiration from the photo as well.

And here is your color/inspiration photo~

I  am not sure if this qualifies for a single layer card; if not it is pretty darn close.  Single layers are tough for me so I am tickled that I did this one.  The sketch from Happy Little Stampers was perfect for this image and for a single layer card~

The image is stamped on a piece of Curious Metallic White cs from CutCardStock;  it has a gorgeous shimmer that I could not get to show up in this photo.  The image is colored with Copics.  I stamped the bow portion of the image a second time, colored it and then fussy cut it out.  A bit tedious but, I do love my fussy cutting!
I die cut 3 pine boughs from Garland Green Craft Metal using a Die-Namites Die, Winter Branch.  I adhered the branches over the bow, using Crystal Effects.  Once dry, I adhered my fussy cut bow directly over the postion of the bow on the main image.
The sentiment is from Verve.
I am entering this in Virginia's View Challenge this month, which is METAL, as well as My Craft Spot: Challenge Metal.

I hope you can join us in our challenge this week!  You do not have
to use craft metal, but if you have it we would love to see it!

Thinking you need your own Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal?  You can purchase it HERE.
I thank you in advance as I get credit for your purchase.
THANK YOU!

A Little Purple and Green

Hello!

I have a confession to make- I am not a fan of purple.  I do not mean to offend all of you purple fans, it is just not for me.  Some things, however, require purple.  Take these blackberries; this is another NBUS that I pulled out to finally use.  It is a Serendipity image that deserved to be inked up!

A friend just had surgery and this seemed the perfect card for her.  Get Well Soon is stamped inside.

As luck would have it, this week Curtain Call has an inspiration photo with purple in it.   The purple  has quite a bit of red in it.  While it is hard to see, I have dotted RV 13 in my berries-a perfect match for the Curtain Call color.  I also have borrowed the green and yellow from the inspiration photo.

I borrowed the sketch from Jen at Deconstructing Jen~

...and I am linking up at the 'Thinking of You' Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
