Undersea with Freshly Made Sketches!

Hello, Hello!

It is a fabulous week as it is the first week of summer vacation!  The stress factor as dropped dramatically, :) .  Judy has a fantastic Freshly Made Sketches sketch for us this week.  A sea theme seemed to be appropriate for the beginning of summer!

I adore this stamp set!  Guaranteed to get a laugh out of any recipient!  The set, Octopus Face,  is from Technique Junkies. If you are wanting to purchase this stamp, you can save 10% with code TJ10LeeAnn

Here is the fab sketch~

My ocean water was made with Ken Oliver Colorbursts (yep, you can save 10% on these too!).
To give some depth and flickering shadows to the sea water, I stamped the Technique Junkies Stained Glass stamp on acetate in black ink, then stamped, using the acetate, onto the watercolored background.
The octopus is colored with Copics and the sentiment was masked and heat embossed as two separate sentences.  One is embossed on vellum. I found two pieces of scrap paper in orange for the banners.
Check out the rest of the inspiration from the rest of the oh so talented Design Team at Freshly
Made Sketches, then link up your take on this sketch!
See you in the gallery!

I am linking up my card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-'Anything Goes'.

Have a blessed week, All!

Feathers

Hello!

Summer is underway and I am trying to get into a routine.  I feel blessed to have more time to get things done, including crafting!
I used a new Technique Junkies stamp,  Ruffle Your Feathers for this CAS card~

I love the zentangled tail feathers!  I had to try them in multi colors- all of the patterns were just too fun to color plainly.  You can get 10% off of this stamp (actually you can get 10% off your entire order) by using code TJ10LeeAnn.

You might be able to see the faint chicken wire stenciling behind the rooster.  The sentiment is from the new Hay Girl Stamp Set.  I stamped the sentiment  using my MISTI
I am playing along with Global Design Project-

I am also playing along with Just Add Ink- in this case, I am adding 'Zentangle'.

Thanks for stopping by!  If you want to do a bit of shopping, remember you can save some cash with TJ10LeeAnn at Technique Junkies!

CAS with Freshly Made Sketches

Hello All!

The school year is winding down and things are happening at break neck speed, lol!  I missed last week's sketch as I was just so behind.  I am back this week, loving Narelle's beautifully simple Freshly Made Sketches sketch.

Here is the sketch~
I love this sketch as it is super versatile and super CAS.  I finally had a chance to ink up my new SSS Delicate Flowers stamp set.  I did some masking to add in a bud and sprigs of leaves behind the main bloom.  I practiced the no line coloring again, though orange seemed to be a bit tough for some reason.
I kept the card super CAS and used a couple of SSS Tiny Words Stamp Set.  I heat embossed the sentiments in white on a black strip and then backed that with a yellow strip of cardstock.

I am linking up to Addicted to Stamps and More- 'Make Your Mark".

I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, a Bright Colors Mood Board.

You can check out what the rest of the talented team has designed for you on the Freshly Made Sketches blog.  We hope you get creative this week and join us!

Happy Summer!  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolored Tulips

Hello and Happy Sunday!

We have had some beautiful weather this weekend, and I spent time doing my not so favorite thing, yard work.  I rewarded myself with some crafting this afternoon.
I inked up this new to me Technique Junkies Tulip Background stamp. I have a discount code to share with you if you shop TEchnique Junkies; you can save 10% on code TJ10LeeAnn

I started by heat embossing the image in white.  I used my MISTI so I could ink up and stamp the image twice with Versamark ink.  I heat embossed it with white ep.
I had planned on coloring the image with Ken Oliver Colorbursts, but a big misshap with my pallete of powders prevented that from happening.  I had distress inks available so used those instead.
I decided I only wanted to use a portion of the image so I could keep the card very CAS.  I die cut the image with a MFT scalloped rectangle die.
No sentiment was added so this could be a simple note card.

I am linking up to The Flower Challenge- 'embossing',

As well as 'Just Us Girls'~

Lastly, I am linking up to The Paper Players~

That's it for me!  Remember, if you choose to shop at Technique Junkies, you can save 10% on everything (clearance excluded) when you use the code TJ10LeeAnn.

Crazy Cow

Hi There!

There is a spring in my step as this is our last full week of school before summer break!
I am looking forward to many lazy days, many that include crafting!
This cow does not look lazy, she looks crazy!  And I love it!  So much fun to play with and
I have so many ideas for her.

I made a quick sponged scene with a horizon and then stamped the cow twice; once on the background and a second one on Neenah Solar White cs that I colored and fussy cut out.  I then adhered it over the cow body in the card front.
The sentiment is heat embossed in white and then finished off the card with some hemp twine.

I am linking up to Addicted to CAS- 'Horizon'.

I used the sketch from MOJO Monday.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Retirement LOL

Hello All!

I squeezed in a card this evening as I needed it for a friend who is retiring.  We started out as a
large group at work and now the retirees out-number us worker bees.  But we still get together for
lunch, hunting for bargains at vintage markets etc.

When I spotted this stamp set, I knew it would be perfect for the group of friends from work.
I did some masking to added the gal standing in the back.  Once colored, I fussy cut out the image.
I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps~

Don't you just love these ladies?

Thanks for stopping  by!

A New Sketch at FMS

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Today I am sharing the card that almost wasn't.  You know the kind.  You work at it and work at it.  Pitch it, restart it.  When the MOJO has vanished.  Thankfully, I walked away from my card this weekend, came back to it a couple of days later and was able to start again and at least change some of the things that really bothered me.  So, at least I have a card that I do not hate.

Here is the newest Freshly Made Sketches sketch~

I was inspired by the photo at Altenew.  It fit this sketch quite well.

I used the Altenew stamp set, Extra Special, as well as the stencil, Deco Wallpaper stencil.

I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Special Lady . In addition, they are using Altenew products this week.
I am also linking up to Watercooler Wednesday, for their All About Occasions challenge.

Pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all of the amazing inspiration (they have not lost their mojo, lol).  We hope you will join us and share your creation in the gallery!

Have a blessed day!

How about some absolutely gorgeous flowers from Jan Tinklenberg!

This is the new Zinnias with Monarch stamp. It was colored very loosely with copics.  I used
the new sketch by the talented Jen B. from Freshly Made Sketches for this card.  As you can see, I flipped this sketch.

I am linking my Zinnia card up to The Mod Squad Challenge- Mother's Day.

I am also linking up to The Card Concept, with their gorgeous garden inspiration photo.  I kept this card clean with a few layers for the "clean and layered" look.

Needing something for all of the bridal showers and weddings coming up?

When I saw this gorgeous image, I just had to have it.  Bride With Bouquet
can be as simple or as detailed as you want it.
Here, I gave the no line coloring technique a go and really love how it turned out.  My background
panel is lightly stenciled using the Scribble Roses stencil.
I used scalloped rectangle dies to frame the image and the card front.

Don't forget to link up your challenge card at Freshly Made Sketches!

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget,

The Name of the Game is Green!

Hello Everyone!

Time for a new challenge at The Rainbow Challenge!  If you are looking for the Technique Junkies New Release Celebration and the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge, go HERE
Wow!!! May already???  Say it isn't so!  Anyone else feel the need to slow the clock down a bit?  May is always a busy month with the end of the school year in sight!  Flowers are blooming, trees are turning green and summer is on the horizon!    The new challenge from The Rainbow Challenge is all about GREEN!

I used a Unity Stamp Co. image and heat embossed it in black.  I masked off the flowers and stem and then sponged two different shades of distress ink to the right of the image.  I used Crushed Olive and Twisted Citron.  I changed my plans at this time and decided to fussy cut along the other side of the image and then pop it up on dimensional tape.  I dug through my stash and found a perfectly matching piece of green polka dot paper to back the card front.  I added black splatters to the inked panel and finished off with a Unity sentiment.
Now it is your turn!  Check out the inspiration from the rest of the talented team and then join us by linking up your green card HERE!

I am linking up to Addicted to CAS- 'Contrast'.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a blessed week!
