What Candycane?

 Hello Friends!

I have another Christmas card to share from my weekend crafty get away.  This cutie always gets a laugh!

I've been around long enough to have many old, retired products.  That includes everything for today's card.  The stamp is retired Stamping Bella, the stencil is Stamplorations (out of business), the scalloped edge is MFT(oob) and the embellies are SU.

I also used a stencil to emboss with for a bit of texture on the card front panel as I forgot to bring embossing folders with me to the retreat.

I am linking up to Jingle Belles -tic tac toe.  I used animal, red and die cut.

I am also linking up to Christmas Kickstart- challenge 100, Merry Go Round.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Freshly Made Sketches Meets Stamping Bella

Hello everyone and welcome to another Wednesday and new Freshly Made Sketches sketch!

I have the honor of hosting this week's sketch.  It is one I go to often  (maybe too much!).  I love all of the space it gives me to work with a colored image.

This week's sketch~

I cannot get enough of Stamping Bella's Edna! I colored her with Copics and then did the partial fussy cutting around her wing.  I added Wink of Stella to her wings and some SSS sequins finish off the card.
The design team has been busy creating again and they have some beautiful inspiration for you!  Head over to the FMS blog and check them out and then join us!
I am so looking forward to seeing what you create!

Back in the Groove

Hi All~

Between the end of the school year followed by a vacation to Rocky Mountain National Park, I am feeling a little rusty when it comes to stamping.  I had multiple packages of goodies waiting for me when I got home from my vaca, so decided to try and get back in the swing of things, especially with Kathy Racoosin's Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge in full swing.

I had been eyeing this Rosie and Bernie stamp from Stamping Bella for some time, so when The Crafty Doodle Chick had a Memorial Day Sale, I decided to grab it.  I paired it with a sentiment from another Stamping Bella stamp, Tiny Townie Bree Loves Buttercream.
I decided to use the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge~

When rooting through my patterned papers, I came across this beautiful paper that was perfect for the sketch.  I turned the sketch to make a horizontal card so I did not have to cut too much off of the pretty paper.  Rosie and Bernie fit perfectly over the starburst on the designer paper.

I am also linking up to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge~

And also to Seize the Birthday~  The challenge is always anything goes, as long as it is birthday, but this week the topping is 'Patterned Paper'.  So I have added the topping!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Hi Everyone!

I played in the Stamping Bella Challenge this week as I was totally drawn to the inspiration photo.  And, I had a NBUS image that was just calling for me to color!

Isn't this a gorgeous photo???

I used the newest sketch from Fusion Challenge~

And Time Out Challenges- 'Celebrations'.

The background, is not really what I was going for, but my gesso and Colorbursts were not working with me!

The Challenge- Colors!

Hello, Hello!

Happy summer everyone!  I am back from vacation and ready to hit the ' To Do' list, LOL!
But not before getting out the Copics for this week's challenge at  The Challenge!

I love this image and love stamping her off the card front for a sense of movement.  So, almost a OLC with the exception of the thin black strips of cardstock beneath the die cut sentiment, which is one of my fave sentiment dies.  It is from SugarPea Designs.
To get the look, I die cut the word celebrate from the card front after coloring my Uptown Girl from Stamping Bella.  I then  die cut the word from a second card front sized panel, using the already cut negative space on the card front for positioning purposes.  I sandwiched a piece of clear cardstock in between the card front and the second plain card front panel, adhering the card front, second uncolored panel and clear cardstock together.  This gave me something to adhere my 'celebrate' die cut to and keep the one layer look as well as the clear or 'see through' look on my card.
Clear as mud, I am sure.
Wink of Stella and SSS sequins add just the right amount of sparkle.

Now it is your turn!  I hope you can join us this week!  Check out all of the amazing inspiration from the rest of the team and then link up your creation HERE!

Chicks and Scoops

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post tonight to share a card I made for FUN.  Trying to get the MOJO back and coloring seems to be doing the trick.  I joined The Card Concept and Sketch Saturday with this card~

I finally inked up this darling Stamping Bella image.  Clearly it was perfect for The Card Concept Challenge.

I used the clean and layered style for this card and used this sketch~

Thanks for popping in!

CAS and Colored

Hi Everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I know it was World Card Making Day on Saturday, but my MOJO was still no where in sight, so I just colored some nbus Stamping Bella images, including this wonderful image of Edna.  I love Edna!

I was inspired by the colors at ColourQ this week~

The image is colored with Copics and the panel die cut out with a SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle die.
Super CAS!!!

Christmas Mouse

Good Morning!

Just a quick blog post, before I go out and enjoy the glorious weather that we are blessed with here in Saint Louis today.  I have had this darling mouse for quite some time and have not gotten around to inking him up.  This month was the perfect opportunity to color him as I have been participating in Kathy Racoosin's coloring challenge.

This week's Just Add Ink Challenge provided the perfect sketch for him~

Anything Goes!

Hi Everyone!

I have enjoyed guest designing with 613 Avenue Create for 3 months; today is my last challenge as a guest designer.  As luck would have it, it is an "Anything Goes" challenge!

I used a brand new to me Stamping Bella image, Blown Away.  I wanted a fairly simple sketch to accommodate the size of the image, so I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches~

I colored the image with Copics and then, using the 'outside the box' technique, trimmed down the rectangle.  While you cannot see it, I used my Wink of Stella pen on the dress for some wonderful glitz.  I had some old Basic Grey dp that was a perfect match for my colors.   The sentiment is heat embossed with black ep on vellum and hand stitched to the image panel.  I few pale pink sequins finishes the card.

I am also linking up to~

No Football Here!

Hi Everyone!

This is my second post today- can you tell that I am NOT watching football or making yummy, calorie laden food?!  Instead, I played with some things that were new to me. I am not one for fancy fold cards, but I was intrigued by them when I browsed the Featured Stamper, Sherry Kushibab, gallery on Splitcoaststamper, so I decided that a Tilt Easel card was in order.  I do not color people images much; I really only own a handful of them.  This adorable Stamping Bella image had not seen ink, so I used her for my Tilt Easel card~

I found this great Bo Bunny paper in my stash that, when I put my fussy cut image (I know, am I crazy??) up against, looked like the side of an old building.  I love the look so added a 'brick wall' and a brick street to create an old world city scene.  I dug and dug and came up with a very old Stampin' Up set with this great little pot of flowers; it made a perfect addition to the outdoor scene.
I love this sentiment-who hasn't had storms in their life?  A dear friend once told me that life is not about going around the bumps in the road, it is about how we go over them!  So, storms, bumps, problems-we all face them, but we have a Savior that we can lean on for strength, mercy and grace for which I am grateful.
So this long legged little gal is in a dreary wet city, but she has found one of the simple pleasures of life, nature.  Maybe that is why I am such a nature lover, LOL!
I am entering this in the Shopping Our Stash challenge, to make a project with an 'outdoorsy' theme and also Colour Me...! which is anything goes this week, up to 5 colors.  My colors here are Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Purple, and Green. Great Impressions asks us to use a floral image.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a blessed week!
