Shimmering Pumpkins

Hello!

I have a card today, inspired by the challenge at Impression Obsession- Pumpkin Spice.  I had just purchased this adorable set, Pumpkin Kisses.  This is a big deal because I am NOT a Halloween fan.  But these pumpkins, and this fabulous sentiment- really spoke to me!
I had just the plan.  I wanted the card to look like a huge pumpkin patch, much like the one I like to visit in the Amish town of Arthur, Illinois.
This is what I ended up with~

I got out my Shimmerz Jeni B Bleu Vibez and Well Blue Me Down Coloringz.  I did some smooshing of these colors on watercolor paper, drying in between layers.  the Coloringz is a vibrant spray, while the Vibez is a spray with tons of shimmer!  Together, they are gorgeous.

The bottom portion of the card was water colored with this fabulous yellow, Dandy Lion Creameez.

I colored multiples of the trio of pumpkins with Copics and fussy cut them out.  They are so stinkin' cute!  I used the sketch at Fusion Card Challenge, although to accomodate my sentiment,
I had to turn the sketch to vertical.

Before adhering my pumpkins to the card base, I splattered some gold Miner Miner 49er Inklingz- lots of shimmering water color, and stamped my sentiment, doing some masking to split the sentiment, allowing for the pumkins in between.  a few sequins finish it off!

I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes

I am up on the Shimmerz Paints blog today; I would love it if you stopped by to say HI!  Plus, I have a bonus card on the blog.  If you happen to do any Shimmerz Shopping, add my name, Lee Ann, to the comments section to get a mini freebie with your order

Oh, and that pumpkin patch?  Here is a picture from last fall~

A New Freshly Made Sketch!

Hello Friends!
It is time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our sketch designer this week is Amy, who always wows me!
I was short on time this week, so CAS was the name of the game.  Very CAS!

So my textured panel originally started out for a different card, but it did not work out.  I loved this piece though and had to find a way to use it.  It is made with lots of Shimmerz Paints goodness-
Well Bleu Me Down Coloringz, Jeni B Blue Vibez Spray, and Widy Tidy Texturez Paste- I love this stuff as it remains shiny after it dries.  I applied the paste with a stencil and then while still wet, I added chunky pieces of gold embossing enamel and hit it with my heat gun.
I decided to showcase the piece by framing it with the negative die cut from an old SU leaf die.
Here is this week's sketch~

I think it works perfectly with the leaf shape.  As this card is for a friend battling cancer, I chose the sentiment 'fight' from the set God is Bigger Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

Check out the rest of the inspiration from the talented team on the Freshly Made Sketches Blog, then join us and create a card with this sketch!

Critters x Two!

Hi All!

I am sneaking in under the wire for Darnell's Twofer Challenge.  This month it is 'Critters' and I have the perfect critters set to use!

I adore this Fur-ever Friends set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.   Baby and Christmas.  Two perfect occasions to use this stamp.

First up, the Christmas version.  Everything is colored with Copics.  I stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut out the tree rings image from the Wood Backgrounds stamp set.   Then for the wreath effect, I fussy cut out multiple of the berry images found in the Fur-ever friends set.  The sentiment, which I love, is from the Born This Day Stamp Set.
I'm linking this Christmas card up to Always Fun Challenge- 'Cute Critters'.

Next up, a narrow, tall card.

I used the sketch at The Paper Players and the colors from Just Us Girls.
The stamps are the same, from the Fur-ever Friends set.  The circles are die cut with some SSS Stitched Circle Dies.  The word 'baby' is from Sugarpea Designs.
My card is 3.5 x 8.5 inches.  Just like Claire Broadwater's over on the Paper Players blog, lol!  I think she came up with a great challenge!
I added a bit of detail with 3 sequins and then a clear seed bead in the center of each.

That's it for me!  Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Hopping with Sweet n Sassy Stamps and an FMS Sketch!

Hello!

Hop along and leave a comment on the blogs listed below and you could be a winner of a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet n Sassy Stamps shop!  Winners will be announced on the Sweet n Sassy Stamps blog on Wednesday, September 25th.  You have until 10pm ET on September 24th to comment.

It was hard to pick a set to share, so I have selected two to share with you.

If you are into critters, this Fur-Ever Friends Stamp Set is hands down the cutest critter set going!
I used the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the sketch!  Narelle is this week's sketch designer and she did not disappoint!

So, pretty clear I did not use any critters on this card!  All of the foliage and the simply adorable shrooms can take centerstage in their own right!  This week's FMS sketch was perfect!

I colored the images with Copics and fussy cut them out.  Worked a bit to arrange them on the card front and added a few sequins.  Super easy!
Next up, I actually did use the critters on this project!

They are the cutest!  This time I water colored them, using Arches water color paper and Daniel Smith Water colors
I fussy cut the critters and then painted a background for them on the Arches paper, going for a tone on tone look.  To add a bit more texture and distinction to the background, I stamped the Falling Leaves Stamp in white ink behind each critter.

I used a fine Micron pen in black to color in the eyes and noses.

Next up, the fun Christmas set, Deck the Halls.

I love stringing popcorn and cranberries so this set was right up my alley!  I kept things simple by stamping the image twice and coloring with Copics.  I did some minor masking for this.  Added the sentiment, some Wink of Stella and sequins and framed it with a scalloped rectangle.  I am linking this card up to the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More
Did you know that besides this great release, it is Sweet Sentimental September at Sweet n Sassy Stamps?  That means That sentiment sets are on sale!  Check out the  Sweet and Sentimental category HERE

If you are still with me, thank you!  I know this was a long post!
Time to continue on the blog hop!

Neutral Fall and a Sketch

Hello All and Happy Tuesday!

I am up on the Sweet n Sassy Stamps blog with this card today.
I was inspired by the sketch at Case This Sketch and just had to play.

I was also inspired by the gorgeous inspiration photo at Pinspirational Challenge.

I used the leaves form the Sweet n Sassy Stamp set, Fur-ever Friends and clustered them for the element in the lower right corner. To add interest to the background panel, I used the Typewriter Text Stamp and the Skeleton Leaf Stamp.  The sentiment is from the So Grateful Stamp Set.

Thanks for popping in!  Have a blessed week!

Happy Fall!

Hello Everyone!

It is a gorgeous fall like day here in st Louis.  Unfortunately we don't really have any color yet- need to wait until we are into October for that.  But one can dream, right?!

I played in a couple of challenges with this card, which uses a Technique Junkies Stamp from the Autumn Framed Sentiments Stamp Set.  Sentiment is In My Prayers.
Leaves were colored with Daniel Smith Watercolors.  Paper is Arches Hot Press Watercolor paper.   I also splattered in blue and black DS watercolors.  I used Quin Deep Gold, Pyrrol Scarlet and Mayan Dark Blue.
I used the sketch and inspiration from Fusion-
My colors are from Inspired By -

And I used the word prompt from Inkspirational which is 'crop'.
I am also linking up to The Male Room- Autumn.

Thanks for stopping by and have a glorious weekend!

Freshly Made Sketches #402

Howdy All!

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is from the talented Karren and it is perfect for Christmas baubles!

See?  I could not get past Christmas ornaments!

I used the new Deck the Halls Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps for my card.  The baubles are colored with Copics and fussy cut out.
A couple of pieces of scrap designer paper finish off the card. Pretty easy!  The sentiment is apparently from a discontinued snss set, which makes me sad as it is a favorite of mine.

Check out the rest of the always fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team then join us for sketch 402!

Mixed Media is Going to the Dogs

Hello Everyone!

I have a quick share this evening, this one a mixed media card I threw together with a monoprint I had previously made.

My image is I'll Be Watching You from Technique Junkies.  Wondering about the name of the stamp?  It comes from the sentiment that is a part of the stamp.  I used the sentiment, Fur Baby, instead of what comes with the dog image.  See Below!  You can take 10% off of both of these stamps, as well as everything else at Technique Junkies with code TJ10LeeAnn!

Anywho, I used my MISTI to stamp the dog, so I could get a clean image with good coverage (I stamped the image multiple times).

A little bit of baker's twine finishes it off.
I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Stamp it- which I have clearly done!

As well as Mix It Up Challenge- Anything Goes!

Falling Leaves

Hello and Happy Saturday!

I know it was a short week for us in the U.S., but I was ready for this weekend!
While the temps are still warm, things are starting to look like fall.  Leaves are on the trails when I walk and then, of course, there is the (in)famous pumpkin spice.  And can't forget Panera's squash soup that will be returning soon!!

I am up on the Shimmerz Paints blog this morning with this card.  I have used one of the fantastic new stamps from Technique Junkies, Modern Foliage, and the sentiment, Hope is Stronger
This card was super easy to put together as all I did was stamp my image on watercolor paper and color with various different paints from Shimmerz Paints.  There is a wonderful mix of shimmer, which is hard to capture on the camera, but I used these products, which have varying degrees of shimmer.

Super simple card, but the shine gives you a lot of bang for your buck!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!
Should you decide to do some Shimmerz Shopping, don't forget to type my name, Lee Ann Barrett, in the comments section of your order, and you will receive a free gift from Shimmerz Paints!

More Critters

Hello All!
By now you are probably tired of all of my critter cards, but they are so doggoned cute that it is impossible not to keep creating!
I have been wanting to do a tall card, or in this case, wide, and these critters were perfect!

My card is approximately 4 x 9 inches.  I used a cloud stencil for my sky and sponged in some ground as well.  All of my critters, from the Fur-ever Friends Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps are colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  Some of the critters and embellies are popped up on dimensional tape.  Those mushrooms make me giddy!
I left the sentiment off as this is going to a friend's daughter, whose nursery theme is forest animals.  She will probably frame this.

I am linking up to Double D Challenges- this week the have an adorable inspiration photo!

As well as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- 'Stamp It, no Digis'.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

All About the Browns

Hello All!

September 1st and that means time for a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge!

September 1st also means that it is time for the new release from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  Oh, My. Word.  This new set, Fur-Ever Friends- is the absolute cutest set ever! I just keep making cards with it, lol!  I tried some no line watercoloring with my Daniel Smith watercolors.  The background is made with the Wood Background Stamp Set.  The card needed a little more something, so I added a leafy branch from the Scribble Flowers Stamp Set, that I heat embossed in gold on vellum.
I used the sketch from CASE this Sketch~
