Green Again

Hi Everyone!

I managed to make another green card using a Unity Stamp image and a die that I have had for probably two years and have never seemed to know how to use it.  I love the linear and contemporary feel of this card, quite the contrast to what I usually do!

I started by stamping the butterflies and coloring them with Copics.  I then masked them off and sponged in the background.  To add interest and dimension, I sponged over a piece of drywall tape with white ink.  The background die is Winnie and Walter, Multifaceted Cutaway.

Color Me Green

 Hello, Hello~

Green seems to be the color this week; maybe everyone is thinking ahead to St Pat's Day.
I love the color combo for Sunday Stamps' current chanllenge~

I used a great floral from a Unity Stamps Kit of the Month and colored it with Copics.  Added some sequins and more than a bit of Wink of Stella as I had a Wink of Stella accident when I primed a new pen.

So Many Fun Techniques!

Hi All!

Weather has been quite yucky here- dreary rain, dreary, wind, rain, dreary... you get the idea!
I hope weather is better where you are!  I frequently have craft nights with friends and it sure is
hard getting the boatloads of supplies into the car when it is pouring!
There are so many things I have been wanting to try lately.  Yupo and alcohol inks being one of those things.  I also wanted to try using the die pieces that would be from the negative space of a background die, popping them up on dimensional tape.
This is what I ended up with~

I started with a piece of Yupo paper and applied alcohol inks to it using the Ranger Ink Blending Tool and alcohol.
Next, using a card front die, I die cut from a plain white piece of cardstock.  To adhere this to the black card base, I took the long way around.  Yep, pretty typical for me!  Instead of just applying adhesive to the pieces I wanted to use while still in the die, I instead used Press and Seal to keep them in place while I removed them from the die, then used more Press and Seal to the front of the pieces, being sure to keep them in their original place- and then applied dimensional adhesive to the backs of the die cut pieces and laid it onto my card base as a single unit.  When I was certain of the placement, I pressed them down and removed the Press and Seal.
See what I mean?  Long way around...
I repeated the process with the alcohol ink colored Yupo paper.  Once the background was done,
I stamped and colored the Butterfly 2 image from Technique Junkies and fussy cut it out.
The raised die cut background made a perfect backdrop for the butterfly.  I added Wink of Stella to the butterfly, though you cannot see it in the photo.

Rose Garden

Hello and Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I am still working on turning coloring projects into cards.  I think this is my current fave- and
I used two flower images from hobby lobby to do it.

I kept it very simple- die cut the panel using a MFT die and added a sentiment from Altenew.

I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Make Your Own Background.

Thanks so much for dropping in!

Grunge Floral

Hello All!
Flowers, flowers, flowers!  I have been on a floral kick lately.  Do you find yourself inking up the same types of stamps over and over and then, just like that, you move on to something else?  Yep, that 's what happens!  A year or so ago, it was people, people people!
Anywho, today's card features a gorgeous Altenew set~

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to ADD GRUNGE.  I wanted to do so and still keep this cas.  I stamped the image and colored with Copics.  Then I started adding color to the background.  I faded out the colors and then used a piece of drywall tape and alcohol to add texture to the background.  Turns out there was brown ink on the tape from a prior project and it started coming off onto the background of the card.  I liked it even better than what I had planned so I just kept going!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a blessed week!

CAS Sympathy

Hello All!

I always like to have a stash of sympathy cards rather than having to make one on the spot.  They are also a pretty good seller at work.  I used this bird image from Technique Junkies for this card.

I hadn't paper pieced in ages and this birdie from the Faith Hope and Love set seemed like a good image for it.  I added some shadows with grey copics.  I die cut a circle and used the negative space to sponge in the background circle.  The 'branches' are from the Hope, Faith, and Love set as well (it is actuallyt part of the rose).
Now I don't know about you, but I find it hard to find just the right sympathy or 'praying for you' sentiment.  This 'In You're Prayers' sentiment is kind of the perfect size.
That's it for me; have a wonderful weekend!~

The Forgotten Dino

Hey All!

I did so much coloring for Kathy Racoosin's 30 day coloring challenge that I couldn't keep up with making cards, lol!
I forgot about this little guy (and he already sold).

A MFT image (retired) that I just love!  Colored him with Copics and used the pointillism technique.  What more can I say about a super CAS card?
I am linking him up to the CASOLOGY challenge this week- 'Together'.

Oxides and Balloons

Hi Everyone!

Why is it that winter seems to zip along?  I feel busy but seem to get nothing done- well, I do make cards.  :)
I finally took the plunge and bought some distress oxide inks- a little late to the party, I know.  I really was good with my regular distress inks, but I had to get with the program...

I used a brand new Technique Junkies Stamp set, Faith, Hope and Love, for this card.  While this set is not technically a birthday set, the heart image makes great balloons.
The hearts were heat embossed, colored with distress oxides, and then masked.  The background was sponged with Twisted Citron, Spiced Marmalade and Peacock Feathers.  I used a stencil and dabbed with a damp towel to 'oxidize' some of the background.  The balloon strings were drawn in with a micron pen and splatters were added.  The sentiment is the Donuts Happy Birthday image.

30 Days of Coloring

Hi All!

I have been trying to keep up with Kathy Racoosin's 'The Daily Marker 30 Day' coloring challenge.  While I have not colored daily, I have done fairly well overall.  I colored up this adorable image from MFT (retired) in a 'boy' and this 'girl' version.

Isn't she cute?!  I used pointillism and colored her with Copics.  The circle panel is a piece of paper watercolored with distress ink and washed with a silver metallic watercolor.
I used this week's sketch at Sketch Saturday~

As you can see, I rotated the sketch and used a vellum panel in place of a large background banner.

Another Valentine

Yep!  Lots of Valentine cards being made over here.  :)

I once again have used this cute Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Set for this card~

I created a background panel with a stencil and then used my SugarPea Designs Heart Journal Die to die cut the row of hearts.  I used this month's SugarPea Designs sketch for the card~ Edit- well, I am not doing too well on getting in on time for challenges- this sketch challenge has closed as well.  :D

Will You Be My Valentine?

Hi All!

I have gone a little crazy making Valentine cards.

I am not much of a cute critter person, but the critters in this Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Stamp Set are so stinkin' cute!  I used a sketch from Papercraft CrewEDIT- challenge closed.  All well, still love and used the sketch!

There are so many wonderful goodies in this release, I did  not know what to work with first!
This first card uses the new background stamp, Stone Wall~

This background stamp is perfect for vintage cards.  I paired it with the sentiment You Are So Loved.  My butterfly is colored with Copics and then received a good coat of the
shimmery Wink of Stella, though you cannot see the shine in the pic.
This next card features the new Flower Doodles background stamp and the most
adorable bird ever from the new She is Fierce set~

I used the emboss resist technique on this card and created an ombre background.  I sponged the color on the bird and then fussy cut her out.

Lastly, I have a super CAS card using the new sentiment, Wishlist, just in time for
Valentines Day~

I used a stencil and sponged a background of hearts and then stamped the sentiment in black and gave it two coats of embossing powder for some shine and texture.
That's it for me!  I hope you have been inspired by the new release.  Remember, the release stamps are 15% off through the 8th, and you can get a 10% discount on everything
