Hello Everyone!
Popping in with a card for Day 3 of Kathy Racoosin's #the dailymarker30day coloring challenge.
I needed another sympathy card- yes, I have been needing way too many lately- so I inked up these new tulips from Impression Obsession.
The flowers are colored with Copics.
Instead of making a copic background, I sponged distress in around and then sponged the same ink (Shabby Shutters) through a stencil. The sentiment is from a retired Ssweet 'n Sassy Stamps set. I cut apart an MFT scalloped rectangle to make my scalloped borders. The line of colored cardstock is really an olive green color, but I always manage to make them turn near black when I photograph the cards.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

Simple Carnations for the Daily Marker 30 Day
Hello Everyone!
I hope you are thawing out from the deep freeze! We are going to hit 60 tomorrow! Woo Hoo!
I have been itching to color this image from Stamplorations and finally set to it for Kathy Racoosin's Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge~
This is truly a one layer card. Obviously I kept it super simple- colored with Copics, adding in a drop shadow (still working on those buggers). The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp- Tiny Words set.
And that's it! Pretty CAS, especially for me!
I am linking up to Sunday Stamps Challenge-
I am also linking up to AAA Cards~
Thanks for stopping in !

Watercolored Holly
Hello Again!
Have you been participating in Kathy Racoosin's coloring challenge? I snuck in a couple of projects this weekend. Coloring is my favorite thing to do and there just is not enough time in the day for it! I am making a special effort to join in as often as I can this month. You can find details on the 30 day challenge HERE, on Kathy's blog.
I fell in love with this Ellen Hutson holly as soon as I saw it. It is just gorgeous! Love the script sentiments as well.
I used Arches watercolor paper and started out with Gina K Amalgam black ink, followed by a base of watercolor using Inktense Pencils. Once I had a few layers of color down, I switched over to Arteza brush pens as I was not getting the deep color that I wanted. Annnnd now it is a little too deep, lol. I added details with Prismacolor Pencils. The background was done with the Arteza brushes. I used white gel pen and then Crystal Effects on some of the holly berries.
The sketch I used is from Freshly Made Sketches~
I learned several things in doing this card. First, if you are watercoloring an image with smooth leaves, do not use cold press paper. When using colored pencils, avoid cold press paper. Lastly, do not overwork your image! We keep doing to practice, practice, practice, right?
I still love how this turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Purple
Hi All!
Purple. NOT a color you see me use much. Nor wear. Nor have around my house. But, the challenge at Less is More this week is 'Purple'. I had the perfect image for it that I was inspired to color by Kathy Racoosin. She is hosting her famous 30 day coloring challenge and on day 1 she colored a beautiful floral. So, I decided floral and purple. And I like it!
Edit-Another photo, because the poor lighting continued to bug me. :D
I used this gorgeous Altenew floral and colored it with Copics. I sponged a background at the top to act as a border edge for the fussy cut floral panel. The whole flower is brushed with clear Wink of Stella. I am linking up to Casology, where this week's challenge is 'Glimmer'.
That's it for me! I think the photographing of the card took longer than the card, lol! I don't know about you but I am looking forward to spring and summer light! Dull, dark, winter days make for yucky pictures.
Thanks for stopping by!
