Tender Thoughts

 Hello Friends!

Welcome to day 3 of our November feature Blog Hops!
Today we're featuring Korin's beautiful new Tender Thoughts stamp set, coordinating dies, and Sympathy Innies stamp set.

This is such a fabulous set; I love it!  It is so versatile-it is great for Christmas cards, masculine cards, vacation/camping themed scrapbook pages, and, as Korin has paired it with sympathy sentiments, obviously it is wonderful for sympathy cards as well.  If you are a back to nature gal (or guy), this is a must have set!
This card came about through trial and error.  The initial idea was there, I just had to find the right way to execute it!  :) The background kraft paper base was first spritzed with Mister Huey's white ink, then the tree image was stamped in Versamark and clear embossed.  I made a rectangle frame and popped that up on the card base with dimensionals.  I again stamped the trees with versamark and this time embossed them with white ep and die cut them out with the matching die.  I stamped and die cut out the deer as well.  The deer was popped up on the card base with dimensionals; a portion of the white trees were adhered to the top of the brown frame.  Birds were stamped in red and fussy cut out.  I free handed my snowy forest floor, stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Joy Stamp Set to the lower left hand corner and adhered this to the bottom of the card.
I am entering this card in Great Impression's November Challenge, with the theme of 'Holiday Card or Tag'.

I kept this card simple, stamping the images in black and then sponging on the color for a sunset.  I used one of the coordinating sentiments and stamped it on the scalloped border. I added one die cut leaf and a couple of black pearls for a finished look.

  • Stamp set includes 7 images and 3 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The birch trees measure approximately 3 3/4" X 3 3/4"
  • The deer measures approximately 1 3/4" x 2"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set - $15
  • Die set-$25.75
  • Get the bundle for just $36 a ($40.75 value)

Next up, some heartfelt sympathy sentiments.  Sadly, I need these all too often.  I sponged a beautiful leafy image on my white cs and then overstamped that with the sentiment.  I used my go-to stamp set, New Beginnings, to add a couple of butterflies.  I used the matching New Beginnings dies-I love how much depth you get by die cutting the butterflies out.  I used the Scalloped Border Die again here, spritzed a little color and added a bow to finish it off.

  • Stamp set includes 7 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 4" x 6"
  • The sentiments range approximately from 2" to 3"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland

  1. All this cards are great, that top card though really got my really something special.

  2. All your cards are wonderful! I adore the dimension and snowy effect you achieved on the first one, fabulous!

  3. Lee Ann when I saw "Blanketed Forest" I was just awed by the beauty. You captured a snowy day in the forest so perfectly with this design. It's absolutely beautiful. And Sympathy Butterflies - what a peaceful and comforting design. Another beautiful design.

  4. Beautiful cards Lee Ann. :Love the shimmer on the first one and the white die-cut trees... the butterflies look wonderful with the stenciled leaves on the last one.

  5. All three cards are gorgeous, Lee Ann! Love the shimmer on the first one...the sponged sky on the second...and your beautiful butterflies coordinate wonderfully with the sympathy sentiment!

  6. Gorgeous samples with the new sets, Lee Ann! I especially like the shimmery effect of the first design. I notice from your profile that you live in St. Lous. I'm originally from Springfield... just a few hours down 1-44.

  7. Very pretty cards! I like your layers & embossing that build the shimmery scene on your first card (and those wonderful cardinals that I don't see with this set). I like your silhouette scene with the colorful sky background too. Pretty color combo on the Sympathy card!

  8. Beautiful cards--love them all!

  9. Beautiful cards. Love the shimmer of card no. one and the sunset of no. two. TFS

  10. Beautiful! wow! Trying to understand the instructions for the first card....what does ep stand for? Thanks for sharing!

    1. Lori, 'ep' stands for embossing powder. I am so sorry; I should not have assumed that everyone knows what that means! I will spell it out from now on! Let me know if you have any more questions!

  11. Absolutely love these stunning trees! Fabulous cards!

  12. I love your Christmas card and am waiting for my die set to arrive so I can use it with my stamps! I'm going to have to try something like this myself.

  13. Wow!!! All three of these are beautiful!! I really like the butterfly card, but I think the first tree card is definitely my favorite.

  14. Your cards are simply stunning. Seems I am always making Sympathy cards and the sentiment is always the hardest! Thanks for sharing and the chance to win!
