Today we are featuring a fantastic versatile border set, Borders and Backgrounds, for which a matching die set is available.
For this card, I wanted a very soft, vintage and rustic feel. To achieve this I used soft pastels, vellum, weathered wood dp and tissue paper to stamp my border on. Each border image is stamped slightly lighter than the next for a subtle ombre look. I used the matching die to cut the 5 strips of scallop border out. The sentiment is stamped on vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder- I love this new trend!
The inspiration for this card actually came from this gorgeous photo from Curtain Call~
I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Tick Tock- be inspired by time. This sentiment is about a unit of time, a day.
Here is a completely different look, using one of the images to make a background. I just love the versatility of this set!
I am entering this card in the Shopping Our Stash Challenge- I have 3 rows of a stamped image, 2 rows of text and 1 heart on my card-3,2,1!
And another completely different look, for a very elegant card~
I stamped the image x2 in Versamark and then clear embossed them-unfortunately you cannot see it in the photo-and then cut them out with the matching die. The seam binding looks like it is woven into the die cuts but it is really just underneath the scalloped die cuts. Pearls cover up where the die cuts meet.
The Details~
- Stamp set includes 5 images
- Stamp set measures approximately 6" x 4"
- Images measure approximately 5.5"
- Designed by Korin Sutherland
- Die set includes 5 dies

It looks like you had a lot of fun creating this fresh and pretty cards! Can't wait to get a border set of my own.
ReplyDeleteI loved the wood paper on the first card. Made the other layers have an outdoor feel - along with the butterflies. The second card is so pretty with the vertical stripes of different colors. And the third card is so elegant. Black and white seems to be a trend and you used it well. the touch of aqua really set it off. Thanks for some great ideas.
ReplyDeletehad a senior moment. I should have said "diagonal" stripes. The correct word came to me as I was traveling through the hop. It's still a pretty card - no matter what you call the stripes.
DeleteThree amazing cards! I love the rustic, vintage of the first! Then the beautiful colors of the second, and finally the elegance of the third! Well done! They are all fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLee Ann, these cards are all lovely. Great use of the stamps and dies on all three! Love those slanted lines and color combo, and the embossing and border on your third card is simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow! I just had to comment about your fabulous card creations! I am stunned at the creative way you used the various border stamps! I know that I get into a bit of a rut- always using border stamps or punches in the same way, but you have made me see the light! I really loved how you layered them up on the gorgeous butterfly card-- almost like lace ruffles or something. This looks especially striking against that fabulous rustic wood background. All in all, you have inspired me to whip out my border stamps and try some new things! You've got a great eye for art and I'm so glad you shared your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!

Boy, your offerings just kept coming in this post! I was impressed by the first card. The weathered wood paper is the perfect contrast to the brightly-colored butterflies and border. Then the colors in the second rock--glad you found that photo on your color board for inspiration! And, just when I thought there couldn't be more, there is that final card. So elegant, and the "woven" look with the borders, pearls, and ribbon is perfect. Thanks for sharing all these!
