Hello Everyone and Happy Spring!
If you have not seen many posts from me lately it is because I have been taking a bit of a crafty break. But when I saw the new Spellbinders Dies, Paint Your World, I could not resist and had to break out the craft supplies.
I started out with a mixed media card~
How fun are these dies!!! The paint brush is adorable and the tulips are so sweet with the brush or on their own.
For my background, I used a Tim Holtz Stencil, Burst, and some white embossing paste on Canson Mixed Media Paper. I like using MM paper when I want a more grunge look as watercolor paint does not absorb into the paper like it does for watercolor paper. Once the paste was dry I loosely painted some yellow Ken Oliver Color Burst Watercolor around the stenciled image. Once dry, I spattered with some brown paint.
Now the die fun. I cut lots and lots of tulips out in a variety of colors using the new Artful Tulips Dies. With the paintbrush, I settled on neutral colors. I decided on the yellow tulips and sponged a bit of yellow ink on them for a bit of dimension and detail. A sentiment strip across the card using the IO Creative Sister stamp finishes the card.
I added SSS Moonshine Sequins and a twine bone for a bit of detail.
I am linking this card up to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Bright and Cheerful. I used the sketch from the Make the Card Challenge~
Next up, a clean card with minimal layers~
I used the same Artful Tulips Die Set, this time using pink tulips. I swished a paint brush stroke of pink ink using the direct to paper technique across the background panel and then spattered it with white and black acrylic paint. The sentiment is from an older Spellbinders Card Club Kit. A few SSS Moonshine Sequins finish this simple card.
I am linking this card up to The Paper Players.
I am also linking up to D and D Challenge, 'Something with a Handle'.
Thanks so much for visiting!
Lee Ann
