Boy, it is that time of year, isn't it??? Busy busy with babies, weddings, graduations, Mother's Day. AND the end of the school year! Lots of cards to be made! LOL!
So I played around with some distress inks and a stencil, ending up with 3 backgrounds from the process. I used one for this adorable owl graduation card. After all, they are supposed to graduate wise, aren't they?!
So, back to the beginning. I used this Medallions Stencil and distress inks, sponging an ombre background~
There was lots of ink left on the stencil, so I spritzed the stencil with water and used it as a stamp, creating this background~
Lastly, there was lots of ink on my craft mat, so I dragged a piece of pistachio colored cardstock through the ink, creating this background, which is the one I used for the card~
The owl is from the new Technique Junkies set, You're a Hoot. He is colored with Copics and fussy cut out. Once I knew where I wanted the sentiment, which is from the Grand Greetings Stamp Set, I stamped the owl on the background and then added the 'You' diecut and the fussy cut owl. I used my MISTI to position and stamp the sentiment multiple times to get good coverage.
I added Crystal Effects to the sun glasses as well as a few enamel dots.
I am linking this card up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Animal Magic,
