Happy Fall!

Hello and happy fall!
Like many, I love this time of year.  The crisp fall air and crunchy leaves- the best!
Sweet n Sassy Stamps is celebrating fall with a fall sale- 20%off all fall themed stamps!
One of my favorite fall themed stamps is this Happy Scarecrow.
He is jumping for joy in a stylized field of sunflowers.
I kept it simple- colored with Copics, added some scrap patterned paper, and some hemp twine.
I am linking up to The Tic Tac Toe Challenge, with my 3 in a row being mixed media, orange and splatter.  I used watercolors, distress ink and acrylic paint for my splatters.
I am also linking up to The Mod Squad Challenge, Autumn Foliage and Krafty Chicks Challenge, All Ocassions.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed fall, y'all!

Cup of Autumn

Good Morning, All!

Golly, what a gorgeous morning it is here, with a feeling of fall in the air.  Upper 40's and I am loving it!  Perfect for a cup of coffee (or for me, tea or hot chocolate) and snuggling up on the couch with a comfy throw.

And perfect for an autumn themed and coffee themed card!

This was so fun to put together.  I used lots of bits from the Fur-Ever Friends Stamp Set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics and tucked them into a cup from the In This Together Stamp Set.

And patterned paper- been a while since I used that and now I have made a couple of cards with layers of patterned paper, lol.  I guess it is fitting for the season!  The sentiment is from the Tea for Two Stamp Set and was stamped in WPlus9's Warm Wool ink.

I am linking up to Just Add Ink for their Just Add 'A' challenge, where I have added acorns.

I am also linking up to The Mod Squad Challenge for their fall foliage challenge.

And over on Facebook, There's a Stamp for That Challenge has 3 options this week- cats, coffee or decorative corners.  Join us!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hopping and Celebrating Sweet n Sassy Stamps' September Release!

Hello All!

Well, time is certainly flying by and we are back in school- in person!  It is an exciting and busy time, and the kids are happy.  School nurse responsibilities have certainly changed since last year.

We are hopping along, sharing lots of inspiration with the Sweet n Sassy Stamps September Release.  Goodness, so many marvelous Christmas sets!  Leave a little bit of love on each blog as you hop and you will have a chance to win a gift voucher to the SnSS store!  Comment by September 22, 10pm ET.

These gnomes won my heart!

I started with a sponged background  and then stamped trees in a like color ink.  I used the trees from the Thrill of Hope Stamp Set.  A bit of spattered white gouache finishes the snowy scene.

Next, I stamped the adorable gnome from the Christmas Gnomes Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Copics.  He was fussy cut out and popped up on a snow mound on dimensional tape.  The sentiment is from the new, Holiday Greetings Stamp Set.

Then there is the tree trimming gnome~

This guy  is so adorable up on his tip toes!  I started out with colors like my first card, but they weren't working for me when I added the green tree and the yellow star.  The tunic had originally been blue and I added an olive green over it to end up with a great shade of brownish green- perfect for a gnome's tunic.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.   A bit of hemp twine finishes off this jolly scene!

I am linking this card up to CAS  Christmas Card Challenge for their cas Christmas tree challenge.

Check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the team and don't forget to comment for a chance to win!

Rev Up the Van!

 Hello All!

Yes, I have been a bit MIA.  I have finally gone back to work so I am getting used to a new schedule and a new routine at school.  I am also just taking a partial crafty break.  I want to love what I do and that has not been happening lately so I have stepped way back.

But, I can never leave it completely!  I am loving the new Vintage Van Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps; it is super versatile.

Isn't this the cutest???  The van and tree are separate images, as is the wreath, and there are other accessory images so you can make all sorts of variations with the van.  For this card, I stamped the card in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics.  To stamp the wreath, I masked out the heart 'logo' of the van and then stamped the wreath with the word 'Joy'.  The image was then fussy cut out.  I did the same with the tree image.

The background was made with my beloved Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  I spritzed my Arches Watercolor Paper with water using my Distress Spray Bottle and then sprinkled on shades of blue and purple Color Burst powders.  I moved them around some with a brush, spritzed on more water and then dried it with a  Wagner heat gun.  I repeated the process until I was happy with the background.

I adhered the tree to the van and then stamped my upper sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Brustus Monroe Ultra fine Alabaster Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Pine Stamp Set.  The lower sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and is from the Christmas Pine Stamp Set.  The image is popped up on dimensional tape.

To finish off the card, I set about to create a virtual blizzard by splattering white watered down gouache all over the background and image.  I colored the garland on the tree and the berries on the wreath with a Uniball Signo White Gel Pen.  A few white sequins and clear sequins finish it off.

I am linking up to this week's Krafty Chicks Challenge, Christmas.

Here is the set with all of the accessory pieces!

And here is a card that is anything but Christmas!

I adore this 60s hippie version with the psychedelic background!  Which, by the way, was made using the shaving cream technique.

I used my MISTI to stamp the van followed by the rack of presents in Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored with Copics.  I colored in a road as well.  And did you catch the adorable license plate?!?

I fussy cut the image, including the road out and adhered it to Neenah solar white cardstock, then matted that with bright pink cs.  The panel was adhered to the psychedelic background.  A few sequins finish off this card.

I think the next card will have to be a van filled with pumpkins!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Guesting with The Flower Challenge

 Hello, Hello!

I am thrilled and honored to be guesting with The Flower Challenge this month.  It is such a dynamo group of designers; it is delightful to work with them!

This month the challenge is all about color-

This month's challenge is,

This is such a classic combo; I decided to get out my Altenew dies for this one.  I used my Ken Oliver Color Bursts on watercolor paper, using pinks and brown.  Then I cut my floral parts from the watercolored paper.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background.  The sentiment is from PTI.  I added Glossy Accents to the flower center followed by a few clear seed beads.

Also, the challenge over at There's a Stamp for That is either Back to School or Square Card.  You still have plenty of time to play along!
