Floral Bookmarks

 Hello!  

Spring is coming-or at least spring break is coming!  I am so looking forward to a week to play catch up. go thrifting and maybe do some crafting!  I am also in a Bible study group-finally- and decided to make a bookmark for those in my group.  

I am a card maker, not a bookmark maker!  These were tough for me but I really like how they turned out.  I started with the beautiful bloom from the Mason Jar Bouquet Stamp Set and water colored them with Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  The flower centers were highlighted with white gel pen.  They were fussy cut out.  I stamped my sentiment with the Hello My Name Is Stamp Set, using Versafine Black Ink, then cut the parts of the sentiment apart. 

The tag was stamped using Impression Obsession Stamps Gingham Cover a Card Background Stamp.  I used the color Parrot from Altenew's Tropical Forest Ink Cube Set.  

I assembled the tags, using a paper doily as my background for the flower and sentiment.  I finished the bookmarks off with baking twine tassels.

Shellebration

 Hello, Hello!

I am using crafting to calm my nerves today, lol.  After spending way too much money on a retaining wall, having a washing machine go out and now a dripping toilet and bad shut off valve, I am ready to throw in the towel!  

Thankfully, I can destress with crafting.  Today I made a card for a friend for her to give to her granddaughter who love mermaids and has red hair.  

I used the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I am also linking up to Inkspirational for their stitching/faux stitching challenge- I have faux stitching on my oval die cut. 

I stamped my mermaid- from the Sweet n Sassy Set, Mer-mazing- in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics.  I also colored up the tube coral and fussy cut the images out.  The coral is from the Fintastic Friends Stamp Set.  The watercolored background panel is from my stash, as is the oval circle.  The mermaid is popped up on dimensional tape and I used some scrap cardstock to bump up the sentiment.  

I love how this turned out and I hope my friend's granddaughter loves it too!
