PB Polar Bear

 Hello and Happy Fall!

It's been a bit again since I have been here,  but I have been busy working on Christmas cards when I can.  I got the new PB Polar Bear (Penny Black, not peanut butter) and had to give him a go.  

I initially stamped the image in a light blue gray color and then colored with Copics.  After coloring, I stamped the packages and facial features in black ink.  I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for the card.  

I turned the sketch upside down and then used a strip of a gel plate print for the background.  The sentiment is from Creative Worship Stamps.

Happy New Year!

 Hello, Hello and Happy New Year!

It has been a while- a long while.  I had the urge to craft on New Year's Eve-yippee!  I was not really sure I was ever going to be interested in cardmaking again, but here we are- at least for one day!  

I immediately headed for challenges to get inspired.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this birthday card.  

Here is the sketch I used~

I started with two beautiful roses from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  The first is from the Rose Banner Stamp Set.  When stamping this image with my MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, I masked out the banner.  The second rose is from the True Beauty Stamp Set.  Both roses were colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  

My background is made with my Gel Press Plate, acrylic paint and a brayer.  My sentiment is from the SnSS Birthday Wordfetti Stamp Set.  I used my MISTI and Versafine Black Ink to stamp.  

Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins finish off the card.

Happy Father's Day

Hello!

It is Father's Day and I hope you are all giving the special men in your life some extra special love today.  A Happy Father's Day to my Dad, the best of the best.  You really are pretty amazing.  

I love this Tim Holtz Stamp Set, Bird Crazy.  I stamped him with Versafine Black Ink onto mixed media paper and painted him very loosely with my much loved Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  

He was fussy cut out and then paired with a mixed media background I had in my stash.  I used my Gel Press Plate and a rubber brayer, along with some craft store acrylic paints to make the print.

Colors are from Sunday Stamps~ 

A few black sequins finish the card.  Sentiment is from a retired SSS stamp set.

Flowers for Mom

  Hello and Happy April!  

The sketch at Fusion Card Challenge inspired me to make this Mom's Day card.  The image was giving me fits until I could 'see' it in the sketch.  

I started with this unique floral image from PinkFresh Studio from the set, Just Because. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored the image with Copics.  Then the image sat on my desk for a while, lol. 

The sketch inspired me to use a circle die to trace a semi circle on the image panel and then fussy cut around it.  I scrounged through my stash of background panels and happened upon this monoprint that I had made using my Gel Press Printing Plate. I used cheap acrylic paint, a brayer and bubble wrap to make this print.  

 Once the background panel and the narrow strips of cs were adhered to the card base, I put the card in my MISTI and stamped the sentiment, which is from Altenew's Extra Special Stamp Set.  

I added sparkle with some SSS Moonshine Sequins.

BIG LOVE

 Hello!  

Life seems to be a bit crazy right now.  Anyone else looking forward to the Thanksgiving break?  That is 5 days of bliss for me.  I am hoping to really get back into cardmaking.  It has been a struggle for a while.  

I did get this new die from Spellbinders, Be Bold Color Block Love You.  It is fun and unique, which is right up my alley.  

I turned it into a Christmas card, die cutting the letters from Gold Mirror Cardstock.  I mounted the letters onto a black card base.  The words peace and joy are heat embossed in gold embossing powder on black cs.  The words are from the Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set.  I embellished the card with an ornament, die cut from the Circle Kaleidoscope Slimline Dies, using Gold Mirror, red and green cs.  

This die is also perfect for Valentine's Day or just to let that special someone know you love them. 

 

This time I die cut the letters from a gel print that I made with my gel press plate.  They were adhered to a white card base.  Instead of leaving the negative space white, I used the negative space in gold mirror cardstock from the Christmas card above.  I kept this one very simple, die cutting the 'You' from grey cs.  So, it was kind of a two for one!
