Temptation

 Hello, Hello!

We had a snow day today so it gave me time to dive into my Bible study on Matthew 4.  There are lots of 'study aids' available to us and I listened to a sermon on temptation from Matthew 4:1-11.  All I can say is wow.  I listened to it twice and needed to take notes as it was that convicting.

I used a downloadable template from Bible Journaling Tips and Tricks FB group and sponged some Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink around the edges and used a Tim Holtz Stencil and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink on top of that.  I kept things very simple to keep room for the notes.

If you have time, I highly recommend this sermon by Jonathan Pokluda called How to Beat the Enemy- Hindsight is 20/20.

Thanks for stopping in,

Lee Ann

The Blues

 Hello Friends!

Time has a way of vanishing.  I started this word mapping before Christmas and am just now getting around to finishing it.  I was determined to complete it now and start another word from the Sermon on the Mount because I am doing a Bible study on Matthew and the Sermon on the Mount starts next week.

Little by little I am starting to get the hang of this.  I love how this study turned out.  It was not too complicated as there are really not many definitions and uses for the word mourn which makes everything pretty straight forward.

What struck me the most with this study is that this mourning does not refer to your general run of the mill mourning such as mourning over the loss of a job or a home or the consequences of sin.  This mourning specifically refers to mourning over that which is sin itself.  It flows right into confession and the recognition that we are in desperate need of Jesus.  Knowing how much I sin daily makes me so grateful that he died and rose again for me.

I used a Sweet n Sassy Stamps Diamond Tile Stencil and distress inks around the edges of the paper and at the top for the focal point.  The flowers are stamped on heavy weight printer paper.  The leaves are from the Like a Sunflower Stamp Set and the flowers are from the Delightful Daisies Stamp Set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Stay warm and have a blessed week!

Christmas Prophecy

 Hello All!

I wanted to give scripture writing a go and I thought I found the perfect writing plan- Christmas Prophecy-  And it is a great plan, but I must confess, I really could not keep up with it.  I had a lot of catching up to do last night.

Regardless, it got me in the Word.

I would love to do a study on prophecy sometime.  For now, I am reading all of the prophecies surrounding Christ's birth.

For the title of my page I used SnSS Lollipop Alpha.  The word 'Christmas' comes from the Christmas Pine Stamp Set.  I framed the pages with the small pine branch from the Christmas Pine Stamp Set.  On the first page I embellished a bit with some sprigs of holly from the Holly Christmas Stamp Set stamped on heavy weight printer paper and colored with Copics.

Each book of each scripture verse is stamped with the Books of the Bible Stamp Set.  I love this set!

This may be my last post before Christmas, so I wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas!

Poor in Spirit

  Hello Again!

Scripture word study.  It always seemed overwhelming to me.  I finally gave it a go; I followed along with a video in the Bible Journaling Tips and Tricks FB group.  Deeds Cason is a fabulous teacher.  So here is my first go of it~

I kept things fairly simple so I could work on getting a system down.  I started by sponging a little bit of distress ink around the edges of the journaling page.  I chose the poppies from the stamp set, Precious Poppies and stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on heavy weight Printer Paper.  I kept the poppies white, so used some W Copic markers for shadows.

I used a variety of stamp sets to for titles and headers~

All in all, this was a great learning experience and I will definitely being doing more.  More importantly, I have always thought the Sermon on the Mount was a bit confusing.  'Blessed are the poor"  made little sense to me.  I have a much greater understanding of this verse now.  I am looking forward to working through the entire Sermon on the Mount to delve deeper into the qualities of the people that were blessed.  Also, did you know that in the Greek blessed can be translated 'happy'?

Thanks for stopping by and have a 'happy' week!
