A Gnomie Christmas

 Happy Wednesday! 

This idea popped into my head again (I hate when that happens) and I just had to put in on paper.  I thought this adorable gnome with lights from the Christmas Gnomes Stamp Set paired perfectly with the shrooms in the new set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps, Colors of Fall.  This set is so stinkin' gorgeous.  

Two mushroom images were stamped on the background panel and colored with Copics.  The gnome was stamped on another sheet of cs and colored with Copics, then fussy cut out.  He was popped up on dimensional tape in front of the shrooms.  

I kept the card simple, just a strip of red cs to ground everything.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Wordfetti Stamp Set.  A few SSS Moonshine Sequins finish the card.

Beautiful Blooms

 Hello, Hello! 

This has become my new favorite floral.  Isn't she beautiful!?!

I paired this beautiful floral image from the My Savior's Love Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps with the leaves from their new Colors of Fall Stamp Set.  Everything is colored with Copics and fussy cut out-pretty straightforward.  

I used a pink mat and a vellum banner that I had laying on my desk and adhered it all to a textured white card base.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and is from the Grace so Amazing Stamp Set.

Tucked in behind the flowers are a few sprigs from the Tall Grass Die.  I went over the stamen with a black Pigma Micron Pen and added a few sequins for sparkle.  

I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Challenge- I changed the oval to a rectangle.

Crafty Fun

Hello!

It was a busy work week and I was sure looking forward to the weekend.  On Saturday I got together with a friend to craft.  It is such good therapy to get together with friends with like interests.  Of course, along with that comes less productivity for me but I would not give up the building of friendship over productivity.  Friendship is good for the soul!  

I spent a good portion of time trying to figure out what I wanted to do.  This page of notes was in the back of my mind and despite not being quite sure how to execute it, I decided to forge ahead.  

I started with the stone arch.  I drew out a template on a piece of paper and then traced it onto cardstock.  The whole thing is colored with Copics and then outlined with a .05mm black Pigma Micron Pen.  It was then fussy cut out.  

I cut a banner from a second page and used it to mask the banner on my page.  Using Shabby Shutters Distress Ink, I sponged some in on the top of the page.  I then used a honeycomb mask and sponged Peeled Paint Distress Ink over the Shabby Shutters. 

The title was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink with stamp sets School Days Alpha and Mini Bold Alpha.  I adhered my arch to the page and then added all of my notes.

There are so many references to Jesus being our rock, our cornerstone, the capstone. He is building his church on the rock.  Are you building your life on the rock or are you trying to survive in the sand?

Fruit of the Vine

 Hello All, 

I hope your week is off to a good start.  I did a little more Bible study and note taking over the weekend.  As I do these notes, I keep adjusting and fine tuning how I do things.  This is really the second half of the bride and bridegroom notes, as it focuses on the water to wine miracle in Cana. 

And, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I again used a downloadable journaling sheet from the Bible Journaling Tips and Tricks FB group.  I started by stenciling the 'vines onto my page- nothing fancy.  Once I was happy with them, I stamped the title, which I just love.  It is from a new to me stamp set, I Am, from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  The fonts-oh my-they are just fantastic.  

I did not have a grape image so I decided to make my own, which, given it is mostly circles, was pretty easy.  I sketched it out lightly with pencil, started coloring each grape with Copics and as I went along, I would outline then with my Pigma Micron Pen (otherwise I was afraid the grapes would all start blending together).  I then fussy cut it out and, voila!

One of the things that stood out to me in this study is that Jesus was Crushed by the weight of our sins.  And we too need to go through the transformative process as well.  Am I satisfied just being a grape or do I want to be fine wine?  Am I willing to be crushed?

And I never thought about it, by grain is crushed (milled) as well.  Every word in scripture is important and it is full of symbolism.   

"Blessed are you, Lord are God, King of the universe, who brings forth the fruit of the vine. "
