Hello and Happy Weekend!

Today I have a fun card to share with you using one of my all time favorite Christmas stamps, Snowy Hello, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Sweet, yes?!
For maximum sparkle, I stamped the image on Curious Metallic Cryogen White  cardstock.  I also added a Curious Metallic Cryogen White mat on the Classic Crest Solar White card base.   Using one of MFT's Blue Print Die-Namics, I cut a catiwampus layer from Brown Bag Kraft cs.
'Peace' is cut with a Stampin' Up framelit from Pop Tones cardstock.  I used my favorite embellishment on the die cut- Wink of Stella- to add even more sparkle to the card.
My favorite dark gray is the color, Squid Ink, from the Flavours Gourmet collection.  I used this to die cut the Knobby Branch Die.
Some SSS sequins finish off the card!

An Advent Calendar with Top Dog Dies

Hello All!

We are barreling towards Thanksgiving and then Christmas will be upon us!  I got ahead of the craziness and made an Advent Calendar using CutCardStock and dies from Top Dog Dies.

I love how this turned out!  Using my We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board made this an easy peasy project.
I used 12 x 12 Basis cardstock from CutCardStock; it is the perfect weight for the boxes and has a bit of texture.  I cut the cardstock into 6 x 6 squares.
Then it was a matter of punching and scoring 24 pieces of paper; once this was done, I stamped approximately 2/3 of the boxes with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps' Music Background Stamp.  For a wonderful shimmer, I stamped them with Delicata Gold Ink.
Next, I die cut the numbers using the Vintage Numbers Die Set from Top Dog Dies.  For even more holiday sparkle, I used the Curious Metallic cardstock from CutCardStock for the numbers. 
I also added a few embellishments using the Top Dog Dies Darling Deer Die Set, Snowman Globe Die Set and Merry Christmas Die Set.

I painted a stick I found in my backyard- first I spray painted it with Bronze paint, then I sponged it with white and gold acrylic craft paint.  The boxes were all tied up with twine and then tied to the branch.

I just love how this turned out.  I have always admired people who just grab some item from nature and do amazing things with it.  I am thrilled with how all of the components came together here; even the greenery which I dug out of the garage sale pile!

Well, on to other things on the Christmas 'to do' list!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Everyone should just about be settled into a new school year by now and my project today is a small thank you to the teachers who work so hard day in and day out with our children.

I started with a 3 x 3 cardbase made from Esse Pearlized Cardstock from CutCardStock. I added a layer of retired dsp from SU.  I am smitten with this apple design that I saw a couple of weeks ago while hopping along with a CASE Study Blog Hop.  I die cut a circle from the Pop Tones Red Hot cardstock and then diecut a small heart in it using a die from my Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Pick Me Up Die Set. I backed the heart with vellum. 
The leaves were made with the MFT Layered Leaves Die-Namics.  The solid leaf is die cut from the Pop Tones Gum Drop Green Cardstock and the skeletal leaf is cut from Curious Metallic Botanic Cardstock; the metallic shimmer of Curious Metallic cs compliments the pearlized shimmer of the Esse cardstock perfectly. 
Talk about easy peasy!  I really, really dislike reproducing cards but these are so simple; it is fairly painless.  :)  I would like to make sets of these to give to some teachers.  CutCardStock even has the 3 1/8 square envelopes to match!

Simple, yet Stunning Thank Yous

Hello Everyone!

I am up on the CutCardStock Blog today, sharing some very easy, but look-like-you-spent-hours-on-them Thank You note cards with a summer flair.

I used some Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock from CutCardStock for my cards and  bit of Black Basis card stock for the butterfly.  A bit of Clear card stock ( I got my from Heartfelt Creations), alcohol markers and my butterfly from Top Dog Dies is all it takes to make these cards.  I added a sentiment (from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps So Thankful Stamp Set). 
My inspiration for these cards comes from the talented Dina Kowal.

A Top Dog Announcement!

Hi Everyone!

I have more super fun news to share!  I am amongst the newest members of the Top Dog Dies Design Team!  Can I just say this is going to be fun!?  I am thankful for the opportunity to with work with such a talented team of ladies and am looking forward to the next 6 months!

Today's card uses a beautiful Top Dog Die corner die from the Decorative Corners Set as well as the Heart Border Die.

I die cut the Heart Border die from Neenah Solar White cardstock and backed it with Curious Metallic Cryogen White Cardstock for a bit of shimmer (all of the cs used is from CutCardStock).  I used a corner die to add a scallop trim to my Heart Border die, using the colors Coral from the Basis Sample Pack, as well as Orange Fizz, Berrylicious, Bubble Gum and Cotton Candy from the Pop Tones Sample Pack.  My scalloped border was mounted on a strip of Neenah Solar White cs that was embossed with a SU polka dot ef and then mounted on a piece of Pink Lemonade cs.  A sheer organza ribbon was wrapped around the heart border panel and tied in a bow. 
I stamped my greeting and cut a notch in it for a banner. The background of the banner is stamped with a sentiment, 'for baby' in Blush Blossom.  Smaller banners were added and pearls, a button and white baker's twine finish off the card.

Citrus Summer Fun

We are celebrating summer over on the CutCardStock Blog and are sharing fun ways to decorate for your backyard parties.

I love the trendy drinking straw embellies that are popping up everywhere, so I made citrus slices to adorn my straws.

These were super easy to make; all you need is your CutCardStock, circle dies, liquid adhesive, a hole punch and glitter.

For my citrus slices, I used Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, and Sour Apple cardstock from the Poptones Sample Pack.

Today's card is for Dad, or should I say Pop!  I used a cute digi card from Whimsie Doodles and some great cardstock from CutCardStock. 

What a Pear!

Hi Everyone!

Can you believe the school year is almost over?  This spring has been sooo busy, with showers, wedding, retirement parties/dinners and, of course, planning for the summer. I needed a wedding card and did something a little different and non-traditional.
One of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp Sets is Punny Fruits and Veggies.  I created a mask for the pear and stamped two of the images to represent the 'happy pair'.  The image comes with a smiley face, but in this case, I decided to mask that out.

With watercoloring being so trendy right now, I decided to get my water brush and reinkers out to color my pears.

And I love the trendy colors of black, gray and yellow!  CutCardStock has the perfect cardstock to complete this color combo.  I used Neenah Solar White cs for my base, image panel, and woodgrained embossed panel.  My yellow circular panel is Carmelized Mustard from the Flavors Gourmet cardstock sample pack.  The gray comes from the same pack and is Squid.  The bit of green is Jelly Bean Green from the Pop Tones Sample Pack.  I used a small bit of designer paper from Heartfelt Creations for the scalloped edge.  The stamped frame is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Vintage Seed Packet Stamp Set.  I added a bit of glitz to my pears with my Wink of Stella marker; love that thing!  Wink if Stella is a crafting must have for a bit of shimmer!

I relied on Fusion Card Challenge for my sketch inspiration. 
 I really like how this turned out; love the nontraditional look and the fun play on words, but the card is still elegant.

Love You Mom!

Hello Everyone!

Mom's Day is this weekend; I hope your loved ones treat you like the queen that you are! I am sharing a Mother's Day card using a fantastic die from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and some great cardstock from CutCardStock.

My card base is of great, sturdy, Neenah Crest Solar White cs from CutCardstock.  I used Spellbinder dies to make my shaped card.  My flowers are stamped with the Thankful Blooms set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, die cut out and then spiral cut to make rolled roses.  I used the Small Leaves dies from snss as well and colored them with Copics for my leaves for the roses.

 'Mother' is die cut with the die from snss and the layer is popped up on dimensionals to give the word depth.

Love Birds

Hello Everyone!

Today I am up on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog with this card.  If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE all things nature, so I was all over this brand new Sweet 'n Sassy stamps set, Love Birds.

You cannot go wrong with these great stamps and with the great cardstock from CutCardStock.
For the background, I stamped the tree background from Tender Thoughts in Baked Brown Sugar on some Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock that has a great, subtle texture.  I used the matching Birch Tree Die to cut it out, and then backed it with a beautiful soft blue- Berrylicious-from the Pop Tones Pack at Cutcardstock.
Now for the really amazing part- I absolutely adore this textured white paper, Nature Gmund Savanna Cardstock.  It is just gorgeous, with a woodgrain texture.  I tried to get a close up picture for you~

Seriously, I just love this stuff!  I cannot decide whether to hoard it or to use it on every project I make!
  For this project, I used this amazing cardstock for both my background mat and the square window framing my scene.
The birds are stamped on Neenah Cryogen White Cardstock- it has a wonderful sparkle to it- and colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I used the matching Love Birds Die to cut them out. The Tree branches are stamped on Brown Bag Kraft cardstock and also colored with Prismacolor Pencils and cut out with the matching die.
All of the parts were assembled and then adhered to a gorgeous metallic base- Shadow- one of the colors in the Curious Metallic Sample Pack.
I finished off the card with my sentiment from the Love Birds set stamped on Vellum and then heat embossed using gold embossing powder.  What a gorgeous trend this is!

Traveling with CutCardStock- Well, Sort of!

Today I am sharing on the CutCardStock Blog and have made a travel journal book using some great cardstock and envelopes. I am headed to the Southwest this summer, and frankly, I cannot wait!  I am an avid collector of all things memorabilia on trips and wanted to make a journal of sorts. 
Here is my finished project~

 
I repurposed envelopes for this project, and to make things even better, they are earth friendly, Brown Bag Envelopes from CutCardStock.  I used some Stampin' Up dsp for embellishing my journal along with my absolute favorite twine, Hemptique.  The stamp is from a new company called Fun Stampers Journey.  The cover is an awesome color, Tangelo, and is from the CutCardStock Flavours Gourmet Collection.

Hop to it with a Spring Treat Box!

Hello Everyone! 
With the official first day of spring being tomorrow, I am leaving winter behind and am all about flowers, butterflies and bunnies!  At last the days are getting a bit warmer, birds are nesting and I am finally seeing buds on the trees.  And while it is hard to believe, next month is Easter.  How much Easter candy have you eaten already?!  I know how much I have eaten, and I choose to take the fifth!
Today I am sharing this sweet treat box; it would be perfect for a sweet Easter treat or little gift or trinket~

 To make this box, I used my We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board and cardstock from CutCardStock.  I use Curious Metallic Cryogen White cardstock for the base.  The scallop circle is cut from Curious Metallic Lime cardstock and the grass is Curious Metallic Botanic cardstock. 
My image is from Heartfelt Creations and was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Cryogen White cardstock and colored with Copics.  The flower is also hand made using a floral stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations.  All of the Curious Metallic cardstocks have a wonderful glimmer to them, which unfortunately, you cannot see in this photo.  But just to be sure things were sparkly enough, I added Wink of Stella marker to the flowers.  I LOVE THAT MARKER!  It lays down the most wonderful glimmer yet is not over the top or over done.

Spring Green Floral with The Card Concept!

Hello Friends and Welcome to another challenge at The Card Concept! This week we have a color challenge for you and Lesley chose some of my favorites, including this gorgeous green~

I know many of us are truly done with winter, myself included, especially since we are shoveling out from yet another winter storm.  I just adore greens and natural elements and I am anxiously awaiting spring, so that is the direction I went with on my card~

My card is designed in the Elegant and Classy Style, which is defined as-

• polished
• shiny finish
• sparkling embellishments
• rich colour scheme
• sophisticated sentiments
• regal
• sweeping
• dramatic
• monochromatic
• layered textures
• awe
• impress

I started with an A-2 prefolded white card base from CutCardStock.   I added a layer of Moroccan Cocoa cs from the Flavours Gourmet Sample Pack. 
The flower was die cut, assembled and molded, using  the Sno Cone color from the Pop Tones Sample Pack.  This paper gives beautiful results when molding and shaping flowers.

The green leaves were stamped on Curious Metallic Cryogen White cs for a beautiful shimmer!
The white window panel is half of a pre-folded white card base.  
I used the Curious Metallic Cryogen White cs for the stamped and embossed inset panel. This panel was stamped with Stampin' Up's En Francais background stamp.

  Over that I placed a stencil and used Viva Decor Pearl Modeling Cream.  Both the cream and the Cryogen White cardstock have a beautiful shimmer and sheen to them.
