Mixed Media Nativity

 Hello and Happy Holiday Season!  

I have the privilege of guest designing for Creative Worship Stamps this month of December.  With Christmas being 24 days away, I had to start out the month with a Christmas card.  

Today's card features my all time favorite Christmas Stamp- Born This Day from Creative Worship Stamps, formerly Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  

The main image was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  Dies are available, but I am one of those odd ones who likes to cut!  

I had fun with my mixed media background; initially, I stamped one of the pine branches from the Christmas Pine Stamp Set in Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Next up, playing with the CWS Blotchy Dots and Hearts Stencil- I inked up the dots side of the stencil with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink and spritzed it with water, then smooshed it onto the paper.  By the time I was done, you really could not make out the dots, by I ended up with a nice blotchy background.  

Next up, I placed the dots stencil on the dried background and spritzed it with Salvaged Patina Distress Spray.  Once everything was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Holly Christmas Stamp Set adhered the main image and added  some sequins for sparkle and called it done.

PB Polar Bear

 Hello and Happy Fall!

It's been a bit again since I have been here,  but I have been busy working on Christmas cards when I can.  I got the new PB Polar Bear (Penny Black, not peanut butter) and had to give him a go.  

I initially stamped the image in a light blue gray color and then colored with Copics.  After coloring, I stamped the packages and facial features in black ink.  I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for the card.  

I turned the sketch upside down and then used a strip of a gel plate print for the background.  The sentiment is from Creative Worship Stamps.

Blue CHRISTmas

 Hello, Hello!

Well, summer is just about over when you go by the school year calendar (I know officially we have over 4 months to go before Christmas).  Christmas cardmaking has been in full swing here since July.  

I used the sketch at Jingle Belles for this card~

I played with all the things for this card- my very favorite Christmas image-from the Born This Day Stamp Set at Creative Worship Stamps, my new die set from PTI, stenciling with the Diamond Tile Stencil from CWS and Distress Ink.  Image colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  The sentiment is from another favorite CWS set, Holly Christmas.

What Candycane?

 Hello Friends! 

I have another Christmas card to share from my weekend crafty get away.  This cutie always gets a laugh! 

I've been around long enough to have many old, retired products.  That includes everything for today's card.  The stamp is retired Stamping Bella, the stencil is Stamplorations (out of business), the scalloped edge is MFT(oob) and the embellies are SU.  

I also used a stencil to emboss with for a bit of texture on the card front panel as I forgot to bring embossing folders with me to the retreat.  

I am linking up to Jingle Belles -tic tac toe.  I used animal, red and die cut.

Beary Christmas

 Hello!  

I am back from a crafty retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains where I was creating Christmas cards-yep, Christmas in July.  

I was inspired by several challenges, including Color Dare Challenge.  I was wanting to get away from traditional Christmas colors and these colors fit the bill perfectly.  

I am also linking up to Addicted to Stamps and More- Christmas, Just Add Ink-Christmas in July, Just Us Girls-Stencil Week.  

The adorable image is Penny Black and is colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Creative Worship Stamps and the stencil is from the now closed Stamplorations company.  A few sequins and some Crystal Effects on his nose finish the card.

Dancing Snowman

 Hello, Hello!  

Summer  is flying by- where the time goes I have no idea.  But once fall gets here, Christmas will be just around the corner, so it was time to make another Christmas card.  

I used a couple of retired stamp sets- one from SnSS and the other from Verve.  The sentiment is current at SnSS, now Creative Worship Stamps.  I went with a turquoise and red color palette as it makes for such as cheerful Christmas card.  

The snowman was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I stamped the background panel with my oldie but goodie snowflakes and then determined the placement of the image and sentiment.  

I decided to ground the snowman with a white ring that I made using IO Stamps Wacky Stitched Circle Dies.  everything was adhered to the card and a few sequins were added for shine.

Christmas Holly

 Hi Friends! 

Christmas in July!  It is stretch for me to make Christmas cards before autumn, but as it is July, I thought I would crank one or two out.  

I used a couple of my favorite Christmas sets from SnSS (now known as Creative Worship Stamps).  I used the Holly Christmas and Christmas Pine Stamp Sets for this card.  I also used the Diamond Tile Stencil.  

The images were colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I used some Festive Berries Distress Ink with the stencil for my background panel.  I spattered a bit of water on the background as well as some white paint for a bit of a distressed look.  The sentiment was stamped and the card assembled.  As per usual, a few SSS Moonshine Sequins finish the card.

Fluffy Thanks

 Hello, Hello! 

I suspect everyone is in the last minute rush to prepare for Christmas.  Having completed my Christmas cards, I have moved on to Thank you Christmas cards which I will need this week for students at school.  The penguin in the Winter Hugs Stamp Set from SnSS was the perfect image for children.  

The penguin was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics.  I then fussy cut the image out.  The snowflake, from the Folk Art Snowflakes Stamp Set was stamped in Candy Apple Distress Ink on the background mat.  

The sentiment is from the Scripty Thoughts Stamp Set and was stamped on a cs strip with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  The sentiment and penguin were popped up on some scrap cs.  

I am making a dozen of these cuties.  5 down, 7 to go.....

I am linking up to The Card Concept.  I used the colors in the inspiration image to make my CAS card.

Christmas Peace

 Hello Again!  

I have another holly card to share with you today.  These sprigs are just gorgeous! 

The holly is from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps set, Holly Christmas; it was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I made a large banner from some patterned paper, then added a doily on top of that.  

I die cut a circle from Neenah Solar White CS so it fit the center of the doily, and then determined where I wanted to place the sentiment.  'Peace' is from the SnSS set, Be Still and Know.  I finished the card off with a few SSS Moonshine Sequins- yes, I use them almost exclusively!  

That's it!  Easy Peasy!

Holly-days

 Hello!  

I am back with another Christmas card, this time some winter botanicals~

This holly from Sweet n Sassy Stamps is exquisite!  The Holly Christmas Stamp Set has several holly sprigs and some beautiful sentiments, including the one on this card.  The image was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.

The background is on mixed media paper; I inked up the Jumbled Hexies Stencil itself with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and spritzed it with water then laid the stencil, ink side down, onto the paper.  I played around with mixed media paper and watercolor paper and adjusted how much water I used.  I liked the mixed media paper results the best.  I could not wait to get this stencil and it did not disappoint! 

I found a circle die cut in my stash along with a piece of black patterned paper.  I arranged and adhered all of the pieces and then adhered it to a red card base.  A white gel pen and a few sequins finish the card.
