When I first saw this sweet Hug Girl, it looked to me like she was looking heavenwards, so I gave her a starburst background with the Starburst Cover A Card.  Hug Girl was stamped with IO Black Ink and colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I paired her with the fab sentiment Faith Over Fear.  The panel is die cut with the

The card base was stamped with the Cover A Card Wooden Plank Stamp in tone on tone orange.

Congrats, Marisela!  Please e-mail me your address so I can get your goodies to you.

Thanks All!

Time Flies

 Hello All!

Time is such a strange thing, don't you think?  Goodness, how it flies the older you get!  And boy, does it crawl when you are bored or doing something you do not like!  But in the end, time is indeed fleeting.  Spend it well!

I did a bit of watercoloring with my fave- yes, my Ken Oliver Colorbursts- on some Tim Holtz watercolor card.  Once the paint was dry, I stamped the clock images from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps set, Time Well Spent.  To give the card an aged look, I used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  For the main image, I stamped the smaller of the two clock images on a separate piece of Tim Holtz watercolor card using the same Brushed Corduroy Ink.  I stamped with my MISTI to allow my to stamp the image multiple times.  Once stamped, I used a wet brush to pull the color from the stamped edges into the image.  Once I was happy with the colored image, I stamped it again to crisp up the lines.

Next, I took the wing images from the Going Postal Stamp Set and with my MISTI and a bit of masking,  stamped the wings on the sides of the clock, again using the Brushed Corduroy and pulling the color in with a wet brush.  I fussy cut the image out.  After stamping the sentiment in Walnut Stain Distress Ink, I popped the winged clock up on foam tape and added a few sequins to finish the card.

I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge- Let's Be On Time

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!

I have had a thing for filling coffee cups with things besides coffee lately.  This fabulous large cup and saucer from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps I Like Big Cups Stamp Set was calling out to be filled with these morning glories from the Sympathy Morning Glories Stamp Set. A bit of masking on some Arches Watercolor Paper and I was set to go.  The images were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then the images were painted with my all time paint go-to, Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  Once the panel was dry, a sentiment was stamped from the Birthday Wordfetti Stamp Set

Check out this fabulous I Like Big Cups Stamp Set!

To finish the card I used a few of my favorite sequins, SSS Moonshine sequins.

Old is New with Impression Obsession

 Hello and Happy Wednesday!

We are stamping with some of our favorite oldies at Impression Obsession today.

The Winter Berry Stem Stamp was inked up with IOStamps Black Ink.  It is a hybrid ink pad, so yes, you can use it for both watercoloring and Copic coloring.  I used a monochromatic blue color palette and colored the image with Copics.  I added an embossed background panel; the sentiment, With Deepest Sympathy, was stamped in grey.  That's it!  Easy Peasy!

Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog to find the rest of the team and their creations.

Black Balloons

 Hello and Happy Weekend!

We finally got some sunshine today and it really lifts my mood.  Today's card is a fun birthday card for that 'over the hill' crowd!

Every now and again I love a snarky card, and this sentiment fits the bill.  I decided to try my hand at coloring some black balloons using the no line coloring technique and Copics.  The balloon image is from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Make A Wish Stamp Set.  I am pretty happy with the way they turned out.   Once the balloons were done, I masked them off and stamped a background using the fabulous line of numbers from the Birthday Word Art Stamp Set.  I finished the card off with a snarky sentiment from the Birthday Wordfetti Stamp Set.  A few black sequins add a bit of shine.

The latest challenge at There's a Stamp For That is either Birthday/Ribbon/ or a Sketch.  I chose birthday for my inspiration card.  Join us for a bit of fun!

I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Make Your Own Background, as well as Seize the Birthday.

CASE This Sketch and a Valentine

 Hello All!

I was so sad to read that CASE This Sketch would be closing it's doors.  I have found their sketches challenging and inspiring.  I used the latest sketch for this watercolored Valentine using a few Sweet n Sassy Stamps Stamp sets.

Here is the sketch~

My adorable hotdog is from the Lots of Love Stamp Set.  I stamped it in IO Black Ink; in addition, I stamped a couple of different envelope images from the Happy Mail Stamp Set a few times and then water colored all with Daniel Smith Water Colors.
The sentiment, from the Love Wordfetti Stamp Set, was stamped in IO Black ink.  Dashes were added inbetween the images and sentiment and the panel was then diecut with the rectangle from the Crazy Stitched Die Set by IO Stamps.
I few sequins and a love themed patterned paper finish off the card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of the week!

It's All About Hearts at Impression Obsession

 Hello Hello!

The Impression Obsession team is sharing all things hearts for our theme day today.  There were so many stamps to choose from that picking out a stamp was tough!  I settled on this fun Heart Medallion Stamp.  It has a very Scandinavian look to it to me and I have always liked this look.  I started out very simple and added to each of the remaining two cards.

Blue card~  Start with a blue card base and stamp a tone on tone pattern using the Cover a Card Small Dots Background Stamp.  The Heart Medallion image was stamped in blue ink and colored with a tone on tone Prismacolor pencil.  The panel was die cut with the rectangle in the Crazy Stitched Die Set.

Yellow and Grey card~ I had to get the Pantone colors of the year in here!  The background panel is stamped with the Cover a Card Gingham Background Stamp in grey.  The Heart Medallion was stamped in yellow and colored tone on tone with Prismacolor Pencils.  This panel is popped up on foam tape.

Red card ~The Heart Medallion is stamped in red ink and colored tone on tone with Prismacolor Pencils.  The panel is adhered to a black card base.  Next, stamp the Cover a Card Gingham Background stamp in red on white cs; die cut a Large Frame from the gingham stamped cs and adhere with foam tape to frame the heart medallion.

Sequins were added to all cards.  The sentiment was stamped with sentiment stamps from the Gracefully Grateful Stamp Set; I used the MISTI to get complete coverage of all of the background stamps and perfect alignment of the sentiments.

I am linking up to TGIF Challenges, 'Background Stamps'.

Head to the blog to check out the rest of the 'heart inspiration' from the team!

Thanks for stopping by,

Easy Valentine

 Hello!

Anyone else have their days mixed up already?  Yesterday, I was thinking it was Sunday all day!  But, if it puts us 1 day closer to the weekend, I am good with that!

I have a Valentine to share with you today, using the sketch at Sunday Stamps.

This has to be one of the easiest cards I have ever made- no coloring, no masking, nothing time consuming or difficult- just 3 little stamps.  Well, I guess I coloring in the hearts, but that really doesn't count, lol.

The airplane is from the Going Postal Stamp Set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  It was stamped in grey ink from Altenew.  I then added the 'jet stream' of hearts which is from the Tea for Two Stamp Set.  I stamped them with IO Black Ink and then colored in the hearts with a red Copic marker.  The sentiment is absolutely perfect for this combination of stamps and is from the new Happy Mail Stamp Set.  I added 3 sweet, little clouds, patterned paper and sequins to finish the card.  See!?!  EASY PEASY!

Sketch~

I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, 'Layer it Up'.
Lastly, I am linking up to Global Design Project for their theme challenge~
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Sweet n Sassy Stamps Blog Hop Celebrating the January Release

 Hello, Hello!

Welcome to the January Sweet and Sassy Stamps Blog Hop!  We are sharing inspiration using the wonderful sets released this month.    As you hop, be sure to comment on each blog as there will be a $25 gift voucher to the Sweet n Sassy Store given away.  Deadline to comment is 10pm ET, January 19th.

My favorite set, even though I am not a coffee drinker, is 'I Like Big Cups'. These various coffee/tea containers allow me to put whatever I want in them!  I have been enjoying 'filling' cups lately.  Today I filled the large mug from the I Like Big Cups Stamp Set with the flowers from the Mason Jar Bouquet Stamp Set.  A bit of masking is all it takes to mash the two sets together.

Start by laying your stamps out on your MISTI to get an general idea of placement.  On the cs, lightly pencil the lowest area where the stamp lines are going to cross.  Once you have done this, mask off the foliage portion of that area on your paper.  Now you can stamp the cup.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I would be coloring with Copics.

Once you have stamped the visible portion of the cup, place the flowers on the paper to see how things are lining up.  Adjust masking to stamp areas that will be visible on the mug that were masked off last time.  Remove the mug image from the MISTI. Place the floral image on the paper, lining up within your stamped mug.  Mask off any areas that you do not want stamped with the floral image.  Stamp your floral image. Once stamped,  fill in any light/unstamped areas with a black marker.

The image was colored with Copics.   For a fun little detail on the mug, I stamped the bee from the Rose Banner Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it in Gina K fine detail gold embossing powder.

I am linking this card up to Inkspirational Challenges, where this week's word prompt is 'Mask'.
I am also linking up Addicted to Stamps-'Make Your Mark'.

For this next card, I fill my cup normally (with tea) but added a slice of lemon to the mug.

The Lemon is from the Life and Lemons Stamp Set.  The I Like Big Cups cup and saucer were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; I added some fun detail by stamped the loopy flower from the Tea For Two Stamp Set across the cup;  I then colored with Copics.  Then I fussy cut the cup and saucer and the lemon out.   I used a craft knife to cut a slit along the top edge of the cup so I could slip the lemon slice into it.  My background is a monoprint made with my Gel Press gel plate , a stencil and acrylic paints.  I stamped the sentiment (oh how I love the font!) from the Life and Lemons Stamp Set onto the monoprint background in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  The cup and saucer are popped on foam tape.  A few sequins from Studio Katia- Summer Fusion- and a MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edged Frame die cut frame finish the card.

January Favorites with Impression Obsession

Welcome to the Impression Obsession January 2021 Release Team Favorites Hop!

The Impression Obsession Designers are sharing their projects from this month's release today.  If you came from Laura Williams's blog, then you are in the right place.  If not, head over to the Impression Obsession blog to start the hop.

We will be giving away 3 Impression Obsession GRAB BAGS-so the more you comment on the design team blog hop posts (1 comment per post), the greater your chances of winning one of the grab bags; comments will be open until Monday, January 18th, 11:59pm, CT.  All winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 19th on the Impression Obsession Blog.

My favorite card from the release is this technique card using the fab Big Hugs Stamp.

I love the 'drip' look.  To get this look,  the image was stamped with Versamark Ink, using my MISTI onto Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper.   The MISTI allowed me to stamp multiple times for good coverage.  Then it was clear heat embossed with Wow Embossing Powder.  Once dry, I wet the top of the panel generously with water and then started dropping in Ken Oliver Colorbursts with a wet brush.  I spritzed the color with water using a Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to help it move and tapped the panel on the desk to help the water to drip.  I complicated matters by trying to do an ombre look across the panel without creating mud between the orange and green colors but, I think I made it work. Once dry, I finished it off with a few enamel dots.

I am linking this card up to Addicted to CAS- 'Emboss'.

You can find the January Release Stamps HERE.

Your next stop on the hop is Lynda Pleckan.  Enjoy!

A Penguin in Red

 Hello!

I have been working on Valentines here as they tend to be my biggest seller. I really had a desire to color a penguin red.  You know how you get things in your head... So I colored this sweetie from the Winter Hugs Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  I am linking him up to Mod Squad Challenge, Something with Wings.

Isn't he the cutest little guy?!  I love how he turned out.  Once colored with Copics and fussy cut out, I kind of came to a stand still.  I know you all know how it goes when things just don't come together.  After many failed attempts in putting the card together, I came across this scrap piece of paper that already had the heart shape cut out from a long ago project.  And things came together beautifully!

The sentiment was stamped with IO Black Ink.  The penguin is popped up on foam tape and a few red and black sequins were added for sparkle.

I am also linking this up to The Male Room for their challenge, 'Animals', and

The Card Concept- my card is clean and layered; I was inspired by the colors and the winter theme.

Die Day with Impression Obsession

 Hello Friends!

Today we are sharing Impression Obsession die cut projects. Have fun checking out what our designers have made today.  You can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog.

We haven't seen any of the white stuff here in St Louis yet, so I created my own winter scene~

I find this sweater wrapped Winter Fox to be adorable!  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut out.

My background is sponged with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink; I tried to fade it out around the edges.  Over that I glued (Gina K Connect Glue) a die cut from the Snowflake Background Die.  My sentiment, Snow Thankful, is stamped in IO Stamps Black Ink onto a die from the Snowflake Frame Die.  Together, it makes a perfectly wintry scene!

I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Use Something New.  The stamp and dies are new to me.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the rest of the die cut inspiration; you can find links on the IO blog.

Red Robin

 Hello All!

I hope you all are having a great start to the new year.  If you missed my post for the chance to win some goodies from me, check out my blog post HERE.

I suspect everyone is making Valentine cards now, and would you believe, that is what this card started out as!

Sometimes when the mojo is lacking, the trial and error stampings takes me all over the place!  Such is the case with this card.  It really was going to be a Valentine card.  I was inspired by a photo from Pinterest.

I really love the ivory background in this image, but as I was planning on using faux watercoloring for the background, the closest I could get was dirty white watercolor paper.

I stamped the flower using an image from the Flower Garden Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Arches Watercolor Paper with Distress Ink in Festive Berries, then spritzed it with water using a Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and stamped it onto the paper.

The Bird, from the Singing Praises Stamp Set, was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink using  my MISTI so I could stamp multiple times, assuring a good impression.  The bird was painted with Ken Oliver Colorbursts-have I told you how much I love this medium?!??  The bird's color looks pinkish, but I really did use red!  Alizerin Crimson to be exact.  Since I did not have the ivory background, I decided to add gray to the image as the colors at Colour Hues are red and gray.  The bird was then fussy cut out.  I die cut a circle out of the background panel using the Scalloped Stitched Circles from Impression Obsession.  The panel and bird were then popped up on foam tape.

The sentiment is stamped in Lava Rock Ink from Altenew.  A few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine sequins finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Snark is My Middle Name!

 Hi Everyone!

Yep, another post!  I have some time off and that is when I do best at getting posts to you regularly.

Anyone else like some good old fashioned sarcasm?  I know I do, so when I saw this set, I knew it was a must-have!  A Little Snarky?  Yes, Please!

Ha!  I have a super power!  I colored the snarky gal from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps A Little Snarky Stamp Set with Copics and fussy cut her out.  Next, I stenciled using distress inks and this Scalloped Mandala Stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink with my MISTI, the girl was popped up on dimensional tape.  I added a few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Impression Obsession January Release Hop, Day 2

 Hello!

We are back with lots more fabulous inspiration from the January Impression Obsession Release.  If you are here from Laura Williams's blog, you are in the right place.  If not, head over to the Impression Obsession Blog to begin the hop.

Today is Day 2 of the hop.  If you missed my Day 1 post, you can find it HERE.  Three Impression Obsession $25 gift certificates will be given away for the hop; the more DT blog posts you comment on along the hop, the more chances you have to win!  Commenting will be open until January 4th at 11:59pm CT.  Winners will be announced Tuesday, January 5th on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Our 'Love' theme continues~

Isn't this the cutest?!  Simple images can make the most adorable cards.  I went CAS on this one.  The image is Love Vase, D12331; it was stamped with IO Black Ink and then colored with Copics.  I die cut the panel out with the fun Crazy Stitched Die Set.  A few black sequins and twine finish off the card.

Next up, this adorable little pup~

This mixed media card is full of texture.  I started by adding texture to Dog With Heart, D12336, by coloring him using pointillism.  After coloring with Copics, I fussy cut him out.  He is mounted on a circle that was die cut with Wacky Stitched Circles Dies; the panel was stamped in a light grey ink with the fun XO Border Stamp.  Stamped multiple times with the help of my MISTI, the stamp makes a great background.   The sentiment is Valentine Wishes, D8566.

For the background panels, I started with a piece of kraft cs and embossed through a stencil with embossing paste that I tinted with brown ink.  The panel was then die cut with the Crazy Stitched Die Set.  The red panel was in my stash from a day of playing with Distress inks.

All of the January Impression Obsession Stamps are available now, HERE.

Your next stop is Lynda Pleckan for some fab inspiration!

Enjoy the hop and don't forget to comment for a chance to win!!
