Santa Bear

 Hello Hello!

I got a chance to play this afternoon and made a Christmas bear.  I love how he turned out-he is my favorite bear and is super versatile.  He has been a birthday bear, an Easter bunny bear, and now a Santa bear.

The Big Bear, from IO Stamps, was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa Ink and then colored with Copics.  I used a Signo White gel pen for the eyes.

The adorable Santa Hat die was used with red and white cardstock.  I sponged red ink around the hat and added Wink of Stella to the white fluff of the hat.  The image panel was then die cut using the fun Crazy Stitched Die Set.  I used some patterned paper for a sentiment strip and die cut 'Ho Ho Ho' using the versatile Alphabet Typewriter LC die set.

Join us at the There's a Stamp for That Challenge on FB.  Can you guess what this week's challenge is based on my card?
I am linking up to Festive Friday Challenge #71.  I used patterned paper, sentiment and die cuts.

Also linking up to Just Us Girls~ I think my letter die cuts qualify as words, if not, so sorry!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed weekend,

A Poinsettia for Christmas

Hello All!

I took a bit of a break  last month but am now back and ready to craft!

With the Christmas season just around the corner, I have been making lots of Christmas cards.  One of my all time favorite stamps is Sweet n Sassy Stamps Poinsettia Greetings Stamp Set.

This extra large bloom ( I know it is really a small bloom with red leaves but hey, it sure looks like a flower) is just stunning!  I have stamped it on Arches watercolor paper with Versamark Onyx Black ink.  It is painted with my favorite watercolor medium, Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  The stunning sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Brutus Monroe Raven Ultra Fine Embossing Powder.

I colored the center of the flower with a white Uniball Signo gel pen.  I finished it off with some white and sparkle sequins.

You still have time to snag this stamp and all of the other SnSS Christmas stamp sets on sale, 10% off through October 31st!

I am linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes,  as well as Krafty Chicks Challenge Anything Goes challenge.  Happy Birthday Krafty Chicks!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

All comments for all of the event days will be open until Monday, November 2nd at midnight CT.  All winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 3rd on the IO blog.

All new stamps are available now!  You can find them HERE.

My card today was inspired by a pin from Pinterest.  I did lots of masking to create this nighttime, seaside scene.

I worked front to back, so started by stamping the ice bergs up front; I used the Mountain Layers Stamps for these.  I masked them, then determined the placement of trees and mountains.  I stamped the mountains working front to back, masking each layer.  Once the mountains were done, I masked off the ice bergs again and stamped the trees from the Tree Lined Hillside Duo Set.

To finish the card, I punched out a circle mask and placed it in the skyline.  the topmost mountains and ice bergs were masked off as I sponged in the dark sea and sky.  The sentiment,  Light of Grace, was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white ep.  I added some snow and highlights to icebergs and mountains with a white gel pen.

And in case you were interested in the original inspiration, you can see it here.

 How did I do?

Impression Obsession Slimline Scenes Stamps Release Hop!

 Hello!

Exciting news!!  I will be joining the Impression Obsession Design Team!  And I am starting off with a great release, the Slimline Scenes Stamps!  Each day, (October 15th and 16th) you can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession blog at 6am ET.

There will be THREE $25 Impression Obsession Gift Certificates as giveaways chosen randomly from comments on the Design Team blogs over the hop- so the more you comment through our Slimline Scenes Hop, the more chances to win!

All comments for all of the event days will be open until Monday, November 2nd, at midnight CT.  All winners will be announced Tuesday, November 3rd.  All of the new stamps are available now!  You can find them HERE.

First up, a southwest themed card~

I used the new Mountain Layers Slimline Stamp Set.  Oh my goodness, I am a mountain girl at heart and had to have these stamps!  Once I stamped my red rocks, I decided to fussy cut along the top edge and added a monoprint sky that I had in my stash.  I stamped the darling Cactus Stamp 3 times, colored them with Copics, made a few alterations to make them unique and added to the scene.  The Don't Look Back sentiment was stamped in black IO ink.

Next up, a simple but elegant Christmas card; I think these may be my card for this year.

The trees from the Bare Treeline Duo Stamp Set were stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with black ep.  They looked kind of like they were floating in air so I grounded them by stamping one of the Mountain Layers stamps in a very light grey behind the trees.

I free handed a snowy hill for in front of the trees and added 2 deer to the scene using the Deer Trio Dies.  I colored them loosely with Copics.  I finished the card off with the Heavenly Peace sentiment, Wink of Stella on the trees and some clear sequins.

Ready for more inspiration?  Enjoy the hop!

Did You Gnome?

Of course you did!  Everyone knows that gnomes are hot, hot, hot right now.  And for good reason- they are adorable!  I have two gnome cards to share today, using the adorable Gnomie Christmas Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

First up, a CAS card in monochromatic gray with a pop of red~

I just had to combine this candy cane loving gnome with the igloo from the Winter Hugs Stamp Set.  Everything was colored with Copics.  This guy not only loves candy canes, he also loves holly, so I added a holly wreath to his chilly home.  The wreath is from the popular Vintage Van Stamp Set (which is back in stock for those of you who were waiting).  Sentiment is also from Vintage Van.

I added color to this tangled up gnome!

I kept this simple as well and went with traditional red and green colors.  I think of the three, this is my favorite guy!  Maybe because he reminds me of me, lol!  He is colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I grounded him with a circle die and then layered two strips beneath; one a bit of drippy mixed media and the other is white cs colored with the same red Copic marker as I used on the string of lights.  Sequins finish off this playful gnome.

I used the sketch over at Mojo Monday.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!
