Peace

 Hello, Hello!

Today was the perfect fall day to stay in and craft- cool, overcast, damp.  I worked on a couple of Christmas cards for a friend of mine, but I really wanted to do some Bible journaling.  

My heart has been so heavy with what is going on in Israel.  Over and over again I have read that we are to 'pray for Israel'- Psalms 122:6.  While I worked on this page, I happened upon a video, stating that Israel rescued 150 hostages!  What an answer to prayer.  

I was inspired by Diana Willis over at Creative Worship Bible Journaling on FB.  She did I wonderful monochromatic, mixed media page.  I followed Diana's steps.  

I gessoed my page with Dina Wakely Clear Gesso, then added Dina Wakely Media Collage Paper Backgrounds in strips.  On top of that I added Dina Wakely Gel Medium.  To tone down the black images on the paper, I added watered down white acrylic paint.  

Once that was dry, I used a lace stencil (which I was sorry I used initially) and some stencil paste.  Once the paste was dry, I started adding various blue  coloring- some Distress Stain, spritzes, etc.  As I added color, I realized that the stenciling looked like broken or shattering glass and decided it was perfect for what has happened in Israel.  

While that was drying, I stamped this beautiful poppy from Altenew's Wallpaper Art Bundle.  After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, I colored it with Copics and cut it out. I stamped a sprig of the leaves with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink using the Chunky Alpha from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  

Before assembling, I added some white and black acrylic paint splatters.  Then I adhered everything to the page.  

Lastly, I highlighted Psalms 122~

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. 

May those who love you be secure.  

May there be peace within your walls, 

security within your fortresses.   

Because of my brothers and friends, 

I will say, "May peace by in you."

For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,

I will seek your good.
